Description I've been an amateur music composer for a few years now... Mainly I compose stuff for my games, but not always! Sometimes I compose things in a sort of... 'modern classical' style, or something like that. I'm not really familiar enough with music trends or terminology to say what it is.

I make them for the pleasure of composing and listening to them; they're not meant to ever be put in a game and I wouldn't want to use them for that purpose anyway.

I've not composed anything like this in a while - or anything at all, actually - but I've just been listening to some of my old stuff, and couldn't remember ever uploading it anywhere public... so I thought that people might find it interesting to see it here, maybe.

I'd like to do more of these... Short piano pieces that I can finish quickly and, gasp, actually have a chance at physically playing (since I can't play my music in general).
This isn't me playing in the sound file, by the way; I'd like it to be, but my piano playing skills aren't good enough yet. That's what you get for being self-taught, I suppose.

Similarly, due to my composing being self-taught, I don't know all the tricks and jargon that people who are properly educated learn about... so bits of this might be weird or simply wrong to one who's been properly educated in music stuff.

Anyway, I composed this back in April, and I'm satisfied with it and don't want critique or suggestions!

If people like it, I suppose I'll try to do more! Sort of like musical sketches in the same way I'm doing my digital sketchbook thing!1

Oh, and unlike most of my music, this one doesn't loop!

Are you wanting constructive criticism or just reassurance. I am not a musician but I hear something (like one key) that seems either out of tune or just misplaced.. I've listened to both of the uploads and the rhythm is great the tempo is great and the overall sound is great, but honestly there is just that one thing that is out of place.. Do you hear it too?

If you can read music, however, and can listen to the music while looking at the sheet music, you might be able to tell me exactly which bar number it is where you feel there's a wrong note...
The sheet music is here: [link]

Sorry I've listen to all 3 now and have re-listen to this one 2 times and I cant find it.. I can tell you it is one of the high notes, and it is very (VERY) minor. "as in the over all not as in scale.. lol"

I'm not really looking for criticism, no.
I know very little about music theory and compose by ear, so it's expected that some bits would sound off; the same could be said of basically all my music. I'm trying to learn proper harmony stuff, by reading countless tutorials and books, but it's taking time to properly absorb it.

Well then I have no qualms at all.. I just felt like I should interject, being you were posting and asking "what do you think"..
Honestly you have already done FAR more than I could..

I too am self taught in music (though I'm a keyboardist rather than a pianist), so the jargon confuses me as well. I'm also an electronic music producer, and I'd love to have a stab at a production of this little track - if you don't mind, of course.

I like this, it sounds sort of cheerful and relaxing.

I'm one of those people who's brain, for whatever reason, assigns colors to things like numbers or smells, but in my case, it's music; I think this song is a nice forest green. Perhaps that was influenced by the title, but it just sounds green to me.

I wish I could compose music, even just a little. I've tried before, but the sounds- and colors- are never right. I guess it's easier to like music than it is to make it!

Are you familiar with the term 'synaesthesia'? It's the thing where senses are connected, and you actually 'see' colours when hearing sounds and things like that! It's something I wish I had...
Though other people also assign colours more consciously to things and don't really see them swirling around in front of them... Do you see the colours, or just sort of 'think' them?

My first attempts at composing were really cringe-worthy. It took me probably at least a year of regular attempts before I came up with anything that at least sounded like a tune, but looking back on that stuff now, it was not any good! So like anything, composing takes lots and lots of practice (I've been doing it for years now, and I've still got a LONG way to go), and nobody is good at anything in their first try...!

I don't actually see them, no, but for whatever reason, my brain thinks songs have colors.

It' actually kind of funny, because my sister does the same thing, but we're always disagreeing about what color a song is.
