I am EXTREMELY happy with this!
It's a Flash game that I made entirely by myself! Essentially everything in it is by me; the graphics (vectors AND rasters), story, coding, music, that planet... The only thing I didn't make is the sound effects; I got those from some free sound effects websites years ago, but I don't know which ones specifically because I've had the sounds on my computer for years!
Anyway, this is an RPG. Instructions are provided within.
I'd GREATLY appreciate it if you'd give me GOOD feedback; that it, something a bit more than just "this is cool"! I DID spend countless hours of this, y'know, and it'd be good to know what people think of it.
MARDEK will be a series of 8 chapters; this is the first, introductory one, and as such it's rather short (for an RPG). The others will be several times longer.
Anyway, tell me what you think!! (Especially about the music!)

Unfortunately, I don't freely give out the source files to my games... though the coding for MARDEK is really, terribly, embarrassingly bad anyway. It *works*, but it's really ineptly assembled and there are much, much better ways to make an RPG in Flash. It's in the now-obsolete AS2, and it doesn't even use OOP at all! It's a miracle that it works at all, really.

I prefer AS2 anyway and I've been working years trying to learn to put a game together in a style that I want but every teacher has their own style of game and ideas about how to put it together, I find it's much more efficient to study the code itself and construct your own code using what you learned.

his is really fun, and I was wondering if it is very hard to make a game like this and also what program do you use, other than that, I really like the game great job!

It's made in Adobe Flash, and it took several years of devoted effort to get to the point where I was able to make games like this. So yes, it is quite hard to make something like this.

Dude. This game is so well made! I've only played the first bit, so far, and I'm already captivated by it! The story I've seen so far is epic, and the breaking of the 4th wall is really clever! Well done!

The 'wall painted like a door' is a nice in joke.
The reaction commands are very clever idea.
May I suggest a 'Take everything' button for the spoils screen. And hotkeys for the battles to make them more streamline.
This reminds me of another flash RPG where the opening was a game of pretend but was in a Earthbound style setting.
I broke the game, I went back alone after my friend and went to bed and George still acted like there were two of us.

Sigh . . . the evil/fake/deceptive/false church . . . these thing get more painful every single time I see one. ZOMBIES get depicted as being nice more often in video games.

How did that sponsor thing work, you said they paid money, I know some sites offer only $200, others like thousands.

Oh, I also head the same problem with deviantArt resizing my game, to fix it I just set in my code this line
[SWF(width = "960", height = "800")] (Flash Builder 4)
deviantart sandbox gets to read that file and sets the dimensions accordingly
If you use CS4 or CS5 I think somewhere you can set the default size to something other than 400x300, or something like that.

Is Flash free? I mean the flash that you do programming on, not the Flash player.

the offical is not. but the "free" third party one only let u code for flash. -> flashdevelop . but i havent messed with it much so i may be completly wrong.

Dude, this is amazing! I love the graphics, the gameplay, the story, everything! And the instructions are easy to understand. All of that time you spent on this was really worth it. Now, I just have a question and I would greatly appreciate it if you reply to it. How do you make a flash like this? Because I've actually created my own story called Abra Cadaver and I would like to make it a flash. If you can help me, I will be eternally grateful!
