Yeah, people put so much focus on not taking the games seriously, they forget that, at least starting from 3 & Knuckles, had serious and engaging elements within the game. Looking at Sonic Colors, every character was a self aware joker and the game overall was completely shallow in all regards that people apprciated in Sonic games outside the gameplay, and even that leaves much to be desired.Related content

Well, I guess I can't argue here. But it could be much worse if they somehow messed up the adaptations too.

Yeah, Sonic X did portray the series in a more light hearted and Japanese way, plus making Knuckles the way he was, so yeah, they did.

Ummm... So what? I'm okay with the voices. In fact, never liked SA1 and SA2 Eggman's voice. Though the best would be Robotnik's from OVA.

See the difference between how the characters act. X made both Tails and Eggman look like complete morons for example.

I don't see the difference. In fact, Eggman WAS a moron to begin with, so X got it just right. And I always thought Tails' SA2 voice doesn't fit right.

Never mind the voices. We all know they sucked in the games. This is all about the quality of the scenes. The dialogue, how the characters acts and so on. Do you honestly not see the difference?
But fair point on Eggman. Perhaps SA2 shouldn't have made him into something he wasn't in the Classic games and SA1?

You have NO idea how many times people use the "Going back to Sonic's roots means having only bright and colorful worlds and light-hearted plots" argument, when that wasn't the case at all. It's almost as if the Classic fanboys who whine about Sonic returning to his roots haven't even played the Classic games, or they have short-term memory loss and can only remember playing the Green Hill Zone.
