Have used uxtheme-patch and in the preview window nothing seems to have happened.

I used a programn called vista glaz what can patch vista (and back)... and also: place it in C:\Windows\Recources\Themes

I know that my vista is patched, but the problem comes when I shall apply the theme.

Just like to say that this is the best Vista theme so I've seen. The simplicity is great.
I have a few suggestions though...
I too agree with others, there should be an aero version too, which could be the same but with window shadows, and maybe some other changes. It would be great if the window previews/flip3d/alt+tab were enabled with this theme.
The explorer windows and start menu need a bit of work. The main thing in the explorer windows that look strange are the is the order-by header, which says 'Name, Tags, Size' etc. It looks weird blended into the title bar above, maybe this should be seperated.
The start menu doesnt look that great with the blank space across the top, and the switch off buttons dont fit in with this theme. Also, shouldnt the background colours on the left and right column be the other way around? I think it looks better with the black on the right and the white/grey on the left.
I've also noticed that the tabs within properties windows dont look that great, the current tab doesnt blend in with the content area below.
