That ISN'T the problem. If you notice, I'm trying to be helpful but I sound harsh. That's all. "Don't judge me, you don't know me."
It's not the defense you're doing that's wrong. I would have done the same, however, the way you're going about it is going to open up more opportunities for people to be jerks to you. I don't know if you've opened your eyes, but the people on this site like to find what pisses people off and do it ON PURPOSE to upset them. So letting people know that you're really upset by this is going to lead you to more pain and anguish. I know this firsthand. People know I hate it when they hit on my girlfriend, so they DELIBERATELY DO IT to hurt my feelings.
I'm more or less trying to help you, even if I sound rude, I apologize. I just feel that faking excessive kindness wouldn't get through to the person. You may wonder why I even care. I honestly don't know, something about this scenario seemed all too familiar so I wanted to at least give my advice, whether it was taken or not. If you choose to see past my harshness, thank you. If not, whatever.

Well I guess I'm just tired of friends of theirs coming here to defend her, instead of defending whats right. if my friend did that shit, i would try to help them create something more original instead of defend their "right" to claim things they didnt think up themselves.

Unfortunately, these people can't be reasoned with OR yelled at. They're often spoiled brats who are used to getting away with everything. They're truly pathetic nothings in this world. They have nothing better to do than rip things off and shit out "art" in MS Paint. They're not going anywhere with it, even if they think they are. When society (which sucks in any case) slaps them in the face and lets them know they CAN'T get away with disrespect, then they'll learn something hopefully. Or at least not bother you anymore. Good luck, dude.
I'd say the best way to avoid them is either BLOCK THEM or humor them. Let them think they're great and SLAM IT DOWN on them right after.

I guess you shouldn't have too much to worry about right? As long as they leave you alone, ya shouldn't have to worry about them. Even if they rip your idea, you know that you came up with it and that should give you the satisfaction in your own mind. That these people are that uncreative that they have to rip something and not give credit.
Be glad you're the superior, don't let 'em bother you. In any case, I'm sorry if this is happening to you and that I came on as an asshole. My intentions, I assure you, are not harassment.

LOVE the sounds you chose so far for the raps, Freak^^. I always pictured them making a noise like the Rev Raptor from zoids. You know that weird half snarling hiss they make? I've also pictured them making some of the noises the baby godzilla's made, and even a few of the smaller sounds the adult godzilla made.
Here is a random question, is it possible for the raps to make any kind of purring sound? not like a house cat of course but more along the sounds say a small wild cat such as an ocelot or a serval would make? [can't spell]
I've also always wondered if they had an actual roar. I keep imagining like a tiger or lion like roar. And I've pictured them making the classic communication noises of the jurassic park three raps^^
I remember you saying in an earlier version of this guide, or it might have been on something else, that phsyraps have the ability to mimic the calls of other creatures from their area in order to attract prey. Is that still true?

yea those were only the sounds i could get. if i knew more about capturing and uploading audio i would have more and better samples lol.
i cant really say i pictured the psyraps as being able to purr. the closest they can come to that sound is prolly like a low deep growl but it wouldnt have the same meaning.
they do have a roar but its not like a lion or tiger. i cant really explain it, but i guess its more like deeper lower version of the caw of a predatorial bird mixed with that of a yelling man.
as for the ability to mimic other sounds, i didnt include that in the new ref becuz im not sure if im gunna give that ability to another creature of their planet instead, since psyraps already have a way to attract prey (and are fully capable of going after the prey instead of having to lure it). so most likely no.

I've been sifting through mountains of psyrap art/character sheets and designs/ fanart and such for quite a while now, and I find the thought you've put into these amazing. I love to make up creatures myself, and I'm always thrilled to see well thought out ones, they were fun to read about! I've already got a character design in the making, though I don't know if I'll do too much with it. It was a facinating read!

I definitely approve of such in depth species. This is really well thought out and the species is just plain awesome! I have a raptor species in my story involving a planet called Eden that's inhabited by a mortal style of angels. The angels refer to them as Sickle Clawed Dragons and they're a winged species. Raptors were always my favorite dinosaur.
Just wondering though, do you have a story these are involved in? If so, do you have it available to read or are you searching for a publisher?

no, yez hair are actually feathers. psyraps have fur. the long fur on the tail is like a horses or lions mane depending on their age

I am a huge fan of the Jurassic park movies, and since then Ive loved reading up on dinosaurs and such, i look at these and see normal raptors will small changes and I'm a little disappointed that they don't have coordinated attack patterns..
but what i think you have done here is extremely original, you did your own research on this kind of thing and everything you have written drew me and and it made me want to read more and more.. honestly, if you were to do some kind of comic or a story on these things i would defiantly follow it, I'm not sure if your into that kind of thing but its merely a suggestion, please keep up the good work, i only found your profile a short while ago and i really love your work

Nope. I don't even watch tv lol. The very rare times I do, I've noticed history channel is usually incorrect or a bit outdated about information, especially when recreating things digitally.
I have however been studying dogs since I could hold a book lol, read just about every dog breed book on the planet.
However the psychoraptors are based on baboons, wolves, and hyenas. Only the domestication is based on the dog.

Are the tails hairless (other than the furred parts)? Several of your psyrap designs look like they are: [link] and [link] for example, and some of them don't: [link] and [link] .

yes, psyrap tails are bare like a possum except for the tufts. however on rare occassion a psyraps main body fur (along with its markings and coloration) will envelop the entire tail, but this will be VERY short "baby" fur, just enough to leave an imprint that matches the main body.
