Description Laid down in 1835 at the port of Genoa, and commissioned in 1839, the di Santarosa was Italia-Piedmonte's first steam-powered warship.
She was intended to be able to outrun the ships of the Austrian navy as part of the preparations for the Risorgismento under the House of Savoy.
Armed with 2 200mm Paixhans-style guns on either side of the fore, as well as a battery of 8 smaller shot-firing guns aft of the paddles.

(will be expanded in conjunction with my new *new* NationStates, Italia-Piedmonte)
