I'm impressed you even tackled such a challenge as this. I mean, drawing mecha is hard enough, but two Transformers in such a close pose must have been brutal. My hat's off to you. I think you did a great job at keeping the technical lines, but making them work with your style and the overall cartoony look. You've gotten so strong at highlighting and shadows with cel, and I particularly like the glint off Prime's chest plates and the way his eyes illuminate. Very nice!! It's a lot of fun and too adorable!
You know, I actually think this would make an AMAZING Valentine's Day card~ XD

A couple thousand years of fighting and death usually kills any romantic mood.
A part of the difficulty is my own fault, since I insist on putting in so much detail and try to follow the character designs as close as I can. And doing that with a CG character who is made up of many, many pieces makes it even harder. DX I am pretty happy with how this turned out, though. (even though I didn't get the exact posing right, now that I'm looking at it again XP )
Oooh, that's an idea! I don't know if I'll make actual cards, but maybe when February comes around I'll play around with stuff. XD

Actually, I think it's awesome you try to adhere to every small detail of a canon character. Certain styles and mediums (like watercolor type paintings) look fine "winging it" because you're supposed to understand the gears and bolts are there through brush weights and shadows. But then sometimes you just wanna see the character, in all their glory. But OMG yeah, CG likes to make life tough for us fan artists! (O_o) Kudos to you, though! It's impressive to tackle such a mecha in detail. (Oh man, I know the feel. My pencil sketches always looks okay, but through the rest of the process I'm like, "This is whacked." XP)
Valentine's Day is super-close! There's heart candies all over my grocery store. XD If you manage the time, I'm excited to see what kinda digital cards you'll create!
