Well, that depends. I know you don't cal them this, but don't your vampires effectively follow "Harmony's Rules"? (Drink only with consent. Do not drain or sire your drink.)

My original idea was that they would both say the suspicious thing first and then clarify that it wasn't all that suspicious after all, but it didn't play out that way.
Depends on the vampire, and depends on who they're biting. Hugo will bite without consent if he reckons they deserve it. More traditional members will always ask because being in a traditional situation they know what will happen if you don't. It's impossible for them to turn anyone (unless the person was on the very brink of turning anyway and losing that blood was the very last shred of the final straw).
What's that from?

OK; differential vampire taxonomy? lore? is one of those subjects, particularly with the number of authors who've put their own wrinkles on it (generally, certainly not something you should take negatively ).
"Harmony's Rules" come from Buffy: The Vampire Slayer (series).

Oh, no I wasn't taking it negatively, I was just explaining myself. Sorry.
I seem to have a bad habit of managing to say things like I am arguing when I just giving what I see as neutral relevant information >.< It's the dyslexia, I think...

Ah OK. I have a similar habit of over-explaining, but without a recognised condition as a reason for doing so.
