Some of you may be familiar with . He's a skilled artist with a knack for speaking his mind. His criticism is often harsh, but never unfair (at least not IMHO, even if I do occasionally drag on him for lack of tact).

At any rate, he runs his own little Sonic the Hedgehog comic over at his page called 'Sonic Re-Told' which is a re-telling of the continuation of the old Archie series of Sonic comics. He streams the process of the creation of said comic every Sunday (1pm PST). Now, while I myself have never really been all that into the Sonic fandom (and said series) he's also an enormous Mega Man fan... so you can guess how I ran into him almost two decades ago.

Geeze... it's really been that long.

At any rate, he has a few Mega Man X Reploid OCs, one of which- Aurora Sphinx - was always a personal favorite of mine. During one of his aforementioned streams I wondered aloud why he'd never adapted his old Maverick OCs for Sonic usage (he prefers to stick to canon but isn't against using OCs for filler). I don't even remember what his answer was but I jokingly said I was going to re-imagine Aurora as a Mobian (Sonic-based character, the planet where Sonic lived having been referred to as 'Mobius' in ye olden days). Well, to my surprise he actually liked the concept! And then he liked the sketch! Thus encouraged, I proceeded to color it, and he seems to like it, too!

Well, I'm not about to look a gift horse in the mouth, so here is my 'Mobian' design for Aurora. She kinda resembles Tails a bit, just with more hair. I tried to incorporate her original design into the idea, though I did make some changes. I gave her a short 'flat' haircut to more closely resemble a helmet like her Reploid design, and then a two-toned style hair where the outside is one color (her typical orange) and the inside is pink. I kinda like the effect. I don't even know if Glitch noticed that bit when he saw it. I also left her shorts dark, the same color as her arms, as if she was wearing a bodysuit under the dress/coat thing.

Considering I don't recall mythical creatures ever really existing within the ranks of standard Mobians, I wonder if she would actually be a sphinx, or just some mutated cat. As such I wasn't sure if I should give her wings or not. I decided maybe she's just got a jetpack or backpack or something, hence the purple trim, though Glitch said he'd probably prefer they were white-trimmed and natural. I'll let him decide for certain if he ever chooses to use her.
