Just surprised that the crew was all MALE for the "future" of space exploration. But it helped Alien stand out more.

well, the US didn't put a woman into space until 83, so I guess it's not that surprising. I love Alien, what an amazing film. Dan Obannon is such a good writer.

Way ahead of its time will a strong woman doing her best in a difficult situation. (for a film back in 1979) Might be why in Empire Strikes Back, Leia has a stronger role than the first movie.
