This an exellent piece, love how you show the progression of the work, personaly I prefer the second to last drawing over the final piece, I like the richness of color that the previous one has.
Beautiful work

Wow...I always love to see these kind of 'W.I.P.' pics because it answers most of my questions of "how the bleedin' hell do you do that?!" Looks fantastic from start to finish--I like the gesture-ish feel it has at the beginning, and then gets into more detail and colour changes throughout. Your stuff is fantastic every step of the way.

This process must take ages. You've got great vision to create the last image from the first one. Your work and work process is always inspiring!

What I can see is that you work first in gray tones and them apply the colors; IΒ΄ll try to do that in my ilustrations. Do you apply the colors in a multiply layer or what do you do exactly.

Is that how you really draw? How pain staking
π: 0 β©: 1
punchyninja In reply to BiscuitJoe [2006-03-02 07:31:07 +0000 UTC]
lol. its not that painful! heheh. I cannever get color and value correct at the same time so doing it this way makes sure I nail the value. I usually draw it pretty small to. like 800x800 pixels, and then blow it up for detail work if I like where its going....

Well, to be honest I haven't even travelled into the realms of digital painting yet. It's a completely new approach for me. That's why I LOVED to see it!

The way you can just build it up from nothing blows my mind. Reminds me of working with clay. And you just change things so fluidly while you work... organically. How much painting did you do before learning painter?
π: 0 β©: 1
punchyninja In reply to Steelpengu [2006-03-02 07:43:49 +0000 UTC]
thanks! I've never really painted for real. I just started recently.....the digital painting took about 6 months before I started to get results....
