Making Pixel IDs is fun; finding all the right specs was not!So here is the template I wish I had. Sorry, only for PHOTOSHOP at the moment. Directions and notes included. It is most accessible for people who are pretty familiar with photoshop.
I realized that there were several templates out there including [link] by which is fairly good but some people may want more direction and functionality.
The best Pixel IDs / Fighters I've seen followed conventions and only deviated slightly; what's the point of trying to look completely different when you've already conformed by joining the bandwagon? So push the creative envelope within the actual artwork, then worry about the rest.
You don't have to credit me with anything.

All I did was download the zip file (by clicking on the download link), unzip the file. Right click on the file and select "edit in Gimp" this should open the file in Gimp as a multilayer image. From there its just a lot of copy,past,etc.
I am using Gimp 2.6 so I'm not sure if older versions of Gimp work or not. hope this was of some help.

my pleasure! yours came out great by the way. there was a flaw in the bg color of the template because it would always be slightly redder when saved as .png, but somehow you fixed it or your photoshop got around that problem.
