There are a lot of scary things in the Mario franchise. Skeletal Koopas that chase after you even in undeath, frightening creatures lurking in the depths of the water levels, disembodied eyeballs that shoot lasers at you, sinister shapeshifters of all sorts, extraterrestrial "trees" watching over your every move from beyond the valley of a half-frozen half-molten planet, not to mention that god damned piano!! However, when it comes to iconic status, nothing pairs Mario and scary quite as well as the Boos, and who better to represent them than their king? Ah crap, he's got Mario in a painting again. Welp, time to grab the vacuum...
