I seem to have insomnia.Allen Walker of D.Gray-man, a two second "I can't sleep..." sketch turned into a few hours of "let's throw a little bit of everything onto this paper and see what happens"
Copic Markers, Gouache, Inks, acylic, more marker, more ink, and several ink smudges on my hands later and this is what came of it. I want to do more with it but my eyes are too tired to care anymore.
Roughly 3 hours time from sketch to completion.

Ahh, if only my haphazardly-planned insomnia-induced sketches looked so good! T_T I really like the way the blacks in his jacket trail off. And his expression; it really draws you into the picture! Bah, everything looks tres cool

Even though I don't know who this character is(I know you said that there in your comment, I newer comment without reading first what artist has to say) this has been my fawourite of all your beautiful work for a long time. (This is my computer wallpaper even now). This really shows your own style and using lots of different things to it gives really great look to the picture. Somehow this is dark and hopeful in the same time, and I have totally fallen in love with his eyes. Colors match perfectly and shading(in all your colored work) is beautiful, yet effective.

I do that too, sometimes. Meaning that I start scetching, and end up trying about everything on it.(Man, I need to find good markers...) Too bad it newer turns out to look this good, but that's why you are so popular and I just have fun trying! x}

I've seen this picture before and thought it was cool, but I didn't know wha it was a fanart of. Well I just recently read the first volume of D.Gray-man and can now fully appreciate this picture. ^_^ I loved Allen... he's such a great combination of being kind of creepy and uber-cute
