The tut says it all. I:
Although I'm pretty sure most of you know all the stuff up thar, just thought I'd show you guys how I do it. Maybe there's something new that you can learn, maybe not.
But it was fun making this nonetheless! I love working with fonts, designing, and things like that. -la-
Part two will cover the drawing of paint markings and a -very- brief section on changing this same horse to a bay.

Thanks for sharing! I'll have to try it sometime and figure out a way to make some of the features work in GIMP.

How about changing something complex- like a buckskin, say, to a gray? I tried Lassoing the legs, just above the black markings, and changing them separately, and blending them in by lightly erasing until a gradient effect happened, but it still looked horrible... Do you do that? Or can you?

Like I said, this is just a simple tutorial.
But if I wanted to do something like that, I'd probably just change the light parts of the horse white, and paint over the legs and any other troubling parts.
I usually resort to painting if/when no other methods work. :/

Ah, I see. Hmm, are there any pieces you painted for any reason that I can look to to see how you do it? I personally can't rely on painting, mice don't have the best strokes... -.-
But thank you. :3 I'll keep trying things. ^_^

i don't know if you are still interested but for the sake of anone interested reading this i'll mention that ever with a mouse if you recolored the body of the horse you could use the clone tool (carefully) to fix the legs. It would of course e challenging to get shadows right and such but doable
