Description B/W Digital

Just what are you thinking about...?

Model: Imani H.

FYI: Her eye is not manipulated. I used a silver reflector and her skin is dark. Please ask before you assume, or read a book about lighting techniques. Have a nice day.

Stunning! I love how her eye looks like it's practically liquid. Nicely emphasised by the makeup as well

the eye looks strange... too much manip?
besides that, i really like the clear bw.

Nope. It's called using a silver sided reflector. It's also made brighter by her darker skin. I don't heavily manip my photos.

that's cool, i don't like manips.
still looks strange though.

If it looks strange then I succeeded. Making the mundane strange is the basis of my Artist Statement.

Thanks for asking me and not assuming. So many others have done the complete opposite.

I was close to do the same. but it sounds so rude just to say: "this is a manip, i don't like it".
I'm glad you managed to get your image "old skool" way, without photoshopping that much.

Beautiful shot. Very sharp image and the mono conversion really suits this picture. Very strong features and the sharpness of the eye really creates a great eye to eye contact with the viewer xx
