Looting the Thenannin cruiser wreck yielded valuable booties: 3 undamaged probability coils, and an intact Library (a 3m x 2m x 1m box) issued to a major galactic power. These treasures were carefully loaded on to work sleds to be taken back to Streaker under Hannes's Suessi's supervision.

The Library was to be secretly handed to Gillian, who would put the Tymprimi 'Niss' machine, the AI created to hack Libraries, on it. It was expected to hold much more information than any Libraries issued to a lowly renegade race such as Earthlings. Libraries such as these were top priority mission goal for all Terragens agents.

Also, the remaining alien cruiser wreck presented an opportunity for Streaker to escape the Galactic pursuers, though it would require Tom to go on a suicide mission to create a distraction for the aliens. Given the fanaticism of the alien pursuers, this was probably the only chance anyone onboard Streaker to get out alive.
