After getting on board Streaker with Gillian, Keepiru immediately left on a sled for the alien wreck site, at which the majority of the crew were, to warn them of XO Takkata-Jim's mutiny.

On the way, however, Keepiru sensed sonar clicks of 2 dolphins in a duel. He correctly guessed that they must be Midshipman Akki, who informed Gillian and the group of the mutiny at a great risk, and Bosun K'tha-Jon in pursuit.

Logically, it was more important to warn the crew, but Keepiru decided that he could not live with himself if he did not try to help the young dolphin.

He banked hard left and pushed the throttle into red.
