Hugo is a fictional character from a Danish cartoon franchise called Jungledyret Hugo. Hugo is a rare rainforest...thing, created by Flemming Quist Møller. He and his companion Rita the fox, go around the world having adventures together. Thats the simple concept of Hugo and Rita. I mean it is a kid's show so there is not much reason to go into detail. But there are two movies (check at amazon.com, type in Hugo the Movie Star. Both movies are also dubbed in English and I think German.

Hugo's species is unknown. About as unknown as Marsupilami. You can make all sorts of guesses and still be wrong. At first glace I thought he was a Koala but realised that koala's don't sport tails. Maybe a cat/puppy thing? But why would a cat/puppy thing live in a rain forest? He acts like a monkey but he really isn't one and the only other animal he might possibly represent would be a bear.

So I just settled on him being an Ewok. Which I'm sure he isn't, as you can see he's pissed off at me for dressing him up as one. But oh well, what Hugo is is up to interpretation for all.

[link] This is the best (And probably only) Jungledyret Hugo fansite that any American has no trouble getting into. But this probably might be the only Hugo fansite ON THE INTERNET. So come check it out, the community is small but thats only because its new.

Both movies have an art style of striking resemblence to Don Bluth. You'd swear some of Bluth's people worked on these films, thats how simular the style is. There will be a third movie coming out this Fall but its going to be CGI. That left a nasty taste in my mouth, I don't like it when good 2D animation has to give in to 3D animation. But thats how life goes.
