I kept saying one of these days I'm gonna draw my idea of where Dumbbell's place of birth. And where he spent a good amount of his young life before moving to Cloudsdale. So here goes!

A tentative project. In some pictures I've mentioned a Kelpie Island and now I'm finally going about trying to draw it. I've never drawn a map before so I don't expect beauty right away,and this basic layout will probably change a lot over time, until I'm satisfied.

Basic history: Set just a couple hundred miles off shore, Kelpie Island was a pirate stronghold hundreds of years ago. Before ponies stepped foot on Equestria (Then called "Discordia") The pirates pretty much ran everything. And even for a time after the ponies arrived, since a good deal of effort went into taming Equestria and defeating discord. It took several years more before Celestia finally stamped her hoof down on the tyrannical sea empire. It took some time before she finally managed to put a stop to pirate activity, though for the young princess, it never felt fully under her control. A spirit of restless rebellion hangs over the place.
