This lizard-ish/Ninja Turtles OC lookin mofo is Scalene. Another figure from Dumbbell's childhood. (There will be more) She is an island salamander though her kind aren't native to Kelpie or any of the islands near by. Since many years in the past, the residence probably would have eaten them. But that's besides the point. Scalene is a treasure hunter, a weirdo, and might suffer kleptomania. It's an urge to take and she has trouble resisting it. So her home (which is underwater) is packed to the ceiling with very shiny useless junk she finds lying around. She can't help it really, or at least that's what she says. Sometimes she'll hand gifts out to a passing tourist since they are none the wiser.

Scalene means no harm but don't leave your late grandma's favorite locket out in the open if you can help it. A lot of the island shop owners don't care for her at all and a few of them have literally swept her out of their stores with brooms. But it doesn't really bother her since technically Scalene doesn't need modern convenience to survive. She is completely self reliant and prefers to be alone. Stupid normies and their stupid normie shops full of stupid normie children who like to chase her and pull at her frills! So long story short she's a hobo.

While Scalene isn't quite the island's matron witch (she's too young for that title) she still knows enough secrets to constantly keep Dumbbell, Amalthea, and the other kids busy.

One day Dumbbell lost his father's shark tooth necklace and was immediately sure that Scalene stole it, and hounded her about it pretty bad, only to find out later that he had just misplaced it.

Or had he?

I had half way conceptualized these salamanders a long time ago but didn't go anywhere with them. Yet since I've been keeping up with comic "Out of Placers" I've got it in my blood to give it another go. Though I'm still a long way off before I start making field guides. World building is fun tho.

But anywho! Comments are totes appreciated. I love to get feedback, so tell me what you think. Even if you don't like it.
