I recently received a ranger key as a 'free gift' along with an an order. As I don't really collect ranger keys, I decided to do something fun with it.Converting a gashapon ranger key into a usb drive is pretty simple. Take out the screws, pop it open, trim the insides to fit with an exacto knife, epoxy (or hot glue) the usb memory in it, and then reassemble.

I agree but I'm happy with the ones I made of Gokai Red, Gosei Knight, DragonRanger, and Gokai Silver.

I would love to try this. But from what I can tell, all of the Super Megaforce keys look too small. Still would like one, though.

They are sadly. Unlike the japanese keys the american ones have the key part molded in as well.

I recently tried this with the Mighty Morphin' key, used a knife to cut out the key part. Almost had it, but cut a little too much, the plastic flap that keeps in in Ranger mode broke. I may get to fixing that in the future.

Well if you could give me some tips on modifying the american keys I'd love that.

I should mention until I get the piece fixed, it's a failed project. Do have super glue, so eventually I'll get back on it.
So, use a sharp and precise knife to cut away the key part and hollow out a little of the main body near the hingeΒ (that's where I messed up). I recommend an Exacto knife. Do note that those things are incredibly sharp, so maybe wear thick gloves or use something like pliers to hold the key away while cutting. I'm also aware that there are different blades for one, check those out. I think I saw a type of "sander" blade that may have worked better.
And really important, as it's a much smaller key than the Japanese toys, you're probablyΒ going to want one of those really short USB drives, like the ones that barely stick out. Those tend to be more expensive, though. And regardless, you're going to want to remove the protective casing. I'm not sure how they're made, but maybe learn about one that is a solid metalΒ casing underneath the plastic one. One I got to test didn't have that, so it's exposed circuitry as of now (I kept it's case, and too tall anyway so will try another project for that).
That seems to be all I can think of. Maybe you'll have better luck with this kind of thing.

Cause I just uploaded a crap-ton of pictures featuring some of the ranger keys I have made into usbs though they are the japanese ones but I'm always up for a challenge plus I have a few extra ranger keys laying around to use.

Would this work on the Golden Anchor Key (the key GokaiSilver uses to go into Gold Mode with).

I honestly don't know. I've seen the key but without fiddling with it and seeing how the mechanism works and what the inside looks liks, I can't give you a definitive answer.
