Zack always gets trolled, so I don't see why Kokoro can't have a lighter and sillier side as well. gives her a certain depth that the canon is lacking. nobody is entirely ideal with no weaknesses, and not giving people quirks is usual a sign of bad writing with self centered goals, lol.

Marie Rose is NOT a mary sue. she loses fights, she gets depressed easily, most fault her for her looks for various reasons, and not every trait of her's makes her likable (being bratty, ect), not everyone hates her, and not everyone likes her either. she is the definition of not a Mary sue.

In this context, Mary Sue is meant to establish that a female character who is very decisive among the fanbase and not really contributing much to the plot in a satisfying manner. 1 you are describing what is known as cheesecake characters, fanservice characters, or eye candy,... which is not really the same in premise as a Mary sue. a Mary Sue is meant to be an avatar for the sake of ridiculous wish fulfillment that imbalances and ruins the story entirely. (ex: bella swan is a mary sue because she can violate universal rules, get all her wishes met instantly, is poorly written, and is a powered up self insert of the author).
Marie in the other context you gave me is still not a Mary Sue. she serves the plot as the innocent person Bayman beats the shit out of when he shows his true colors, shee makes Honoka's socially inept self much more relatable, and she fills in the blank of "who are Helena's slav-I uh mean helper staff"? she adds to the plot directly multiple times as she also helps give sharp contrast to Honoka and ayane through being a measuring bar they both interact with,... thus differentiating the two characters).
Mary Sue is already slang, lol. but I get what you are saying,... Marie rose is a contraversial character because people see her as pointless eye candy. they do that because they failed to put effort into actually watching the story.

That is not what I am trying to say or even imply. I know precisely what is cheesecake in the slang terminology or a fan service character. You can sugarcoat it and give as many possible theories in a shallow attempt to justify Marie Rose's existence, but when I say that she is a Mary Sue, she is vapid,boring, and a huge determinant by dividing the fandom. Before her creation, the DOA community never really have suchΒ constant fighting going on among each other to this degree. Everyday I keep seeing brand new threads on various boards all across the internet how much damage she has caused to the series.
I mean she was literally created as two middle fingers to Sweden because they banned DOA: Dimensions over there.Β Those that see her as eye candy I question their sanity. I knew sooner or later that was going to be brought up. Yes I am fully aware of the fact that there are women in real life who have the same physical shortcoming as Marie Rose. But I have not come into contact with them and even if I did, I don't find them remotely appealing. Dating and finding a significant other is hard enough as it is. Considering how terrible of a reception DOA6 has been getting, Sweden seems to be having the last laugh. Honoka is not off the hook as she has her set of issues. Her being related to Ayane being the biggest one. However at least from my own experience, Honoka fans are not as obxinous and confrontational as MR fans hence why she doesn't get the same amount of hatred.

Life is unfair and a bitch. I don't know what else to tell you. People born with a mental or physical handicap will simply have to make do with what they have been burdened with. Not necessarily. The rules of being better and working hard don't apply when people choose to be evil.
