Well... I´ve read many books about horses... not about horses as animals to ride on but horses as a mammal as we are with an indipendent brain and it´s own thoughts and feelings. 
And from some sources you can say: Yes, they exist for real. Of course not like this whole vore thing... this horses are killing their victims and rip them to pieces. Most people reply to that:
"A horse lack the sharp teeth!" They dont need them. A horse uses brute force. But from what I know they like innards, organs and especially blood more than actual flesh. If you ask the
internet you will find many storys of flesh eating horses. Some of them were trained to do so, some of them were only shown that you can eat it by humans... and some of them figured it out 
on their own... and in some rare cases the horses even figured out that they can eat a human aswell... trained and untrained. (Most of this cases happend long ago... but not all) 
Even though it may seems brutal and all I find things like this really fascinating... that a horse (considered a so called "Herbivore" by humans) is actually able to go "against his nature"
and eat flesh. I personally would call them "Omnivores"... because I had to figure out that even my horses dont take this "vegan" thing THAT seriously... 
And another thing is this whole "horses as war material"... you often read storys of riders eating their own horses because they were starving back in history. But there are a few cases
reported were actually the starving horse unmounted it´s rider, stomped him to death and started eating him... so happend for example to a russian cossack during the napoleonic wars...

I could go on like this for hours... one of my favourite topics.

Yeah... and I could go on like this forever... I did research tings like this for quite a long time...
Not to mention that there were many horses not eating but killing people like they were some kind
of prey. I´ve been attacked myself several times... 

Another story of this... for example... would be the one known as "The man eater of lucknow"... a horse
that killed many humans on purpose... really going for man hunting... no matter if man, woman or little child.
After he got arrested the man eater was about to get eaten himself... he was going into the arena (he was a 
british horse in India) and had to face the maharajah´s Tiger. They placed a little mare in there to give him a
reason to fight for... but the man eater watched the Tiger killing the female horse without any shown emotion.
As the Tiger was going for him afterwards, he ended the fight with a single, well aimed kick to its face crushing it´s jaws.
A death sentence for a big cat...
