Description Credit to for creating this monster's initial design.

-----

Name: Diablosaurus

Height: 45 Meters
Weight: 50,000 Tons

Powers:
-Flamethrower: Diablosaurus can breathe a stream of incredibly hot fire from his mouth.
-Fireball: Diablosaurus can launch a massive fireball from his mouth. Has a charge time, but is capable of moving around while preparing the attack.
-Immense physical bulk allows him to take quite the good amount of punishment and throw his own weight around.

Weakness: Diablosaurus has almost completely unusable arms. In addition, he has trouble getting up after falling to the ground.

Biography:
Argelian had gone through a plentitude of training exercises to perfect his new body’s powers and abilities. Interestingly enough, as COG noticed, the cyborg was doing extremely well. It seemed the alien already had prior combat training of some sort. When questioned, Argelian seemed to change the subject. It would not take long for Argelian to truly prove his worth in battle, however.

A month after his rigorous training, reports came in about a disturbance out in the Midwest; a tremendous amount of smoke and heat was being emitted in the countryside. It didn’t take long for the cause to show itself. The earth shattered as a massive behemoth rose up from the ground, streams of fire dancing from its mouth. COG was immediately called up, and for the first time ever, Argelian, the Firebird, and the Roc set off to take on the first new kaiju in 5 years.

Diablosaurus, as it was dubbed, was heading towards a local town, but was thankfully cut off by Argelian. Without even the slightest moment of hesitation, the fiery dinosaur charged the cyborg. The alien managed to grab a hold of the monster’s head, avoiding a powerful headbutt. Unfortunately for Argelian, he underestimated the beast’s strength, and with a quick spin, Diablosaurus had thrown the warrior to the ground. Argelian focused back onto his foe, and quickly rolled out of the way as a stream of flames erupted from the behemoth’s mouth, torching the area he was just in.

Argelian rose to his feet and switched the gauge on his arm via telekinesis; without further hesitation, the cyborg launched a blast of energy directly into the charging dinosaur’s face, causing the beast to recoil in pain. Argelian took advantage and ran into melee, slamming his fist into the monster’s chest. A quick chop to the head followed, and with a spin, the alien smashed his foot into Diablosaurus’ ribs, sending the dinosaur stumbling to the side. The beast’s mouth began to glow as flames started dancing around it. Argelian took caution, but suddenly the dinosaur charged!

Preparing for a head on collision, Argelian was surprised as Diablosaurus opened its mouth and unleashed a fireball directly into his chest, sparks flying as he slammed to the ground. The dinosaur was quickly on the fallen warrior, latching down onto his mechanical arm. Argelian tried to fight back, but the dinosaur had him pinned down. Suddenly, explosions rocked the monster, shrieking in pain as the Roc and Firebird intervened. Missiles littered the sky, but most were met by the beast’s flames. The aircraft were forced to back off, but they had done their job.

Argelian rose to his feet once more and charged forward, slicing his metallic claws into the dinosaur’s hide, regaining the beast’s attention. Argelian grabbed Diablosaurus by the neck and began applying a choke hold. The monster thrashed about, but was unable to get the alien off of him; his arms were far too short to be of any use as they fluttered about wildly. With a mighty heave, the alien used his immense strength to throw the monster to the ground. The beast flopped about, having tremendous difficulty trying to get up. Taking advantage of this, Argelian brought his arms up high into the air, bringing them together, before throwing them back down. His chest, glowing wildly at this point, launched an immense, rainbow colored beam. The Hoseki Beam smashed into Diablosaurus, and within a few seconds, a massive explosion rocked the area, destroying the demon dinosaur.

It was Argelian’s first victory, but trouble was not far away. In the distance, watching the events that took place, a strange humanoid stood, donned in what appeared to be a laboratory coat and surgeon’s materials. With a chuckle, the being vanished into thin air...

Trivia:
-Diablosaurus, while normally capable of being a standalone critter, was turned into a sort of Bemular tribute. Bemular was the first monster that Ultraman fought; both monsters have very small arms, short faces, and are the first monsters to appear in their respected series.
-Diablosaurus is the first piece of art I’ve ever used colorless blenders on instead of a white colored pencil.

Very nice design he's got. I like the useless arms just dangling there, in contrast to the fairly heavy, huge head.

Quite the first battle and the kaiju's design has me drowning in nostalgia fuel from at least three different sources, which is awesome. Already liking the gradual developement for Argelian.

Thanks! Out of curiosity, what are the nostalgic sources?

Primal Rage- Diablo, fire breathing dinosaur with a devil motif. One of my favorite fighting game characters.

Ultraman- Goes without saying but the horns give me imagery of Gomora who while not the first of Ultraman's foes was one of his nastiest and would go on to be one of the most iconic kaiju in the series. Gomora is what largely got my attention for the Ultraman series (alongside Red King) since I have a hard time taking ANYTHING in spandex seriously.

The third source is my early childhood in general, before I got into kaiju and more fantasy oriented stuff before that, I was into dinosaurs and lost world style enviroments which I drew regularly. Diablosaurus reminds me very much of the kind of creatures I drew then and it makes me smile to see such a creature again. Super powered dinosaurs hell yeah. Part of the reason my own Satanis came out so well. Part of me would like to go back to such a setting again some day.

Funny thing, when I first saw the preview tag for this in the previous deviation, I had this image of a kaiju-fied Diablos from MH.

Sadly, I never got the chance to play Primal Rage, but I can see why he reminds you of Diablo, haha. As for Gomora, I didn't expect that, haha. The only Gomora horns that remind me of Diablosaurus are the 80's version, cause that one has multiple pairs. And I'm glad to hear that it brought back old artistic nostalgia.

I joked around with DH while working on Diablosaurus by saying stuff like "Time to work on Diablos." XD

He looks strangely adorable. Maybe it's the "widdle tiny arms".

He's got a big head and little arms. Maybe that's why.
