well, according to the lore, thats because she has a faulty reactor core that is constantly leaking out energy so she has to constantly drain the Xel energy of other robots, like a vampire or something. also, her full name is Raychel

Wait...... Ray is actually a girl!? I didn't know that. And I would love to get help for Ray to help fix her reactor core. I don't wanna see that poor robot suffer. I'm actually sympathetic for robots.

yeah, beck tried to do that in the game
unfortunately, she is too berserk, too enraged and she lash out at everything surrounding her. as such, she cannot stay still long enough to allow the repairs and attack try to devour anyone who would try to help

well, to know more about Ray's story, she has an exclusive storyline in the game
she is just much harder to play in a way

Back has a hard time against normal enemies and has the advantage against bosses.
Ray can cruise trough normal enemies but has a hard time against bosses (due to the constant lowering health and no projectile).
