Daily Deviation Edit: I had a higher rez, newer file that I uploaded when I got the DD. The old one is in my scraps.
thanks everyone!was playing around in zbrush to do some renders. Gun is 90% modeled, mostly tweaks are needed to fix it up.
the gun is a grenade launcher as well. The grenades are housed in inside the outer bullet ring of the clip.
both projectiles are propelled faster when the barrel of the gun is filled with a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen causing the bullet to travel at much faster speed.
the guns stock extends and the internal mechanical workings and timing mechanics are under the main armor flap, gun settings are under the smaller flap.
the gun premise is similar to a Tommy gun, but because of the high accuracy, the stock can be extended and a tactical stand can be slid out to snipe long range.

Programs used. 3ds max for modeling, Zbrush for rendering, PS for post.

Really sweet stuff. Although I don't understand the hello kitty keychain - but it lightens up that it's a weapon. I suppose you did some post-work in Photoshop since I don't think you can get refractions and different materials that nice in Zbrush renders. Very nice all the same.

This should be massively produced. I'm *NOT* a gun nut, but I would definitely become obsessed over practicing with this one on a daily basis. Seriously. Plus, it looks KEWL. *NOT* that I would ever kill anything with it, even in self defense (too horrified, couldn't live with myself, 'd rather die....since you asked, you know

Love the fuctionality and the design. Very futuristic. I hope the government doesn't buy your idea of this wicked gun or the world is doomed.
The Hello Kitty seems to me as a semiotic of some sort, as though the person using this doesn't take it too seriously, like life's a game. I wouldn't be surprised if the gun can be doubled-up as something else either...looks like a hell lot of mechanism being used to run it.

I find the idea of the Hello Kitty similar to that of grenades in Battlefield: Bad Company - the pin is a smiley-face.

well it's also a nade launcher too, you can see the grenades in the cartridge if you look close. The idea behind it is that the bullets are gas accelerated. most the mechanics in there are to fill the barrel with an oxygen and hydrogen mix so when the bullets are fired they explosion is accelerated.

Thanks for the comments! Think of it more of a Tommy gun in the way you hold it opposed to a assault rifle. That handle under the gun is the release for the cartridge, when that is pulled the ammo simply falls out. thanks for nowt icing all the details!
