Description
ALRIGHT HERE IT IS.On the actual art first:
+ I did a lined version first, but then I decided it was waaaay too stiff, and I had to redo the entire thing. I prefer lineless in general.
+ I realized just now that I forgot to put the dark gray ear tips on the three little onyx heads up in the corner. But.. I did it on SAI and couldn't save it so now I can't fix it. :c SORRY ABOUT THAT.
+ yes, I know it's not 2009 YET lol. But it's close enough for me.
+ And I know it's a boring pose. I kinda like how she looks a bit curious; like someone just walked in the door and she's wondering if they have food.
on O19 (since I didn't want to shove a wall of text on the actual picture)
Name: Onyxnineteen
Birthday: October 19th (get it?)
Gender: Female
All you REALLY have to know is that the white doodle on the bottom is her winter coat.
the details of her design I'm not uberly picky about. I'd like to see what other people can do with onyx, not just what I say she's like. :3
//WARNING. Massive TL;DR. Don't feel like you have to read this//
+ Her natural colors are the green and warm gray (and white in the winter) anything blue is painted/dyed etc on. MEANING... she doesn't have to have any blue on her if you don't want her to.
+ The blue band on her right forepaw is Cam's frienship bracelet that.. he didn't make for me but I stole. So now it's mine. >D I don't really care if people don't draw it or not, but the real thing means a lot to me.
+ Her nails and pawpads can be any color in her coat. I don't mind any way. Her pinkies are sometimes blue (or any other color, really.) While I paint my pinky nails most often, I'll paint the others too sometimes, so all her nails can be painted any color.
+ Do you see her sticking her tongue out? Yep, it's green, and so is the inside of her mouth.
+ The swirly things. They're supposed to look like wing marks. She doesn't have wings and she can't fly, but I'm rather fond of the swirly things.
+ Her tail can be any length and any amount of fluffiness. I personally think it's cute rather short and fluffy.
+ The stripe going up the back can stop anywhere on her back. It can reach up to her neck if you like. It doesn't need spots; it can be just a straight line, or a more wiggly line, or a drippy pattern. OR STARS AND HEARTS. ANYTHING. WHATEVER YOU DESIRE.
+ Her hair be any pattern, and any color in her coat. The three little chibi heads are just examples (I usually draw the hair on the left.) Her hair can also vary in length and style. Or no hair at all.
+ Her industrial can have any design and be any color.

thats a really lovely design! even with the green, everything fits so well together that it looks natural C:
the green almost reminds me of a honey badger or a place where wings would sprout from. and the blue is a really nice touch :]

She looks a bit chubby :3 but she looks good all the same.
I like the touch of blue, but I really like her dark on light gray, which you added a while ago.

maybe just a tad bit, but she does have a 1:1 body to legs ratio. Haha, I don't mind, perhaps she's a bit more fluffy now, or she's been eating too much holiday chocolate XDD
Seriously though, I don't care for OMG LEAN LEGS AND SKINNY BODY at all. It's okay when done RIGHT (that is, actually contributes toward's the character's being) but... that's hardly ever DX everyone abuses it! Every time I see a dog with legs two times as long as the body I CRINGE INSIDE but there you go
And the dark/light gray is my favorite too! To me, that's how she stands out from the rest of the black/green dog population out there. Plus it's way better then all the green spots everywhere (which were a huge pain to draw)

LOL
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if someone snarked this, or anything else in my gallery. I'd laugh :'D
I get away with not feeling guilty about the comments/snarks I post because I try not to do cliche things (BLACK AND GREEN HA. Actually, I'll probably make a snark featured for just black and green sporkledawgs and have mine at the end) you know, checkers, rainbows, scene hair emo backstories, etc.
And of course I know Gee! I didn't know you decided to change her. What differences are there now?

well the only difference is her main colors are going to be a more... quiet shade of green and dark brown feathers (her "mating season" colors will be black and neon green like she usually is drawn and her "winter" plumage will remain the same. I just want to make her normal coloration less... sparkly)

Well first off that little winter coat picture looks absolutely adorable. I can't stop looking at it, heehee! <3
Okay. Okay. This is a very nice fursona sheet you've got here. Starting the new year off with a fresh reference is a very good idea; people who update their characters frequently really ought to do this.
-nods-
I'm sure I've told you this before, but I really love the colors behind your fursona. They compliment very well, from the dull gray-brown to the bright green colors. The little dabs of blue give it a nice final touch! This reference specifically I enjoyed. It's simple enough for a simple character, and is drawn with style and flair. You did very good work with this one, my friend, it's nice to see your fursona's reference updated. Nice job!
Aah I've got a question about those swirls, if you don't mind. Are they markings on the actual design, or is it a part of your style? Y'all never clarified that~ c:

Thanks so much for all your input! (:
Sheets that have a ton of info on them are useful, but in this case it's unnecessary for me.
And the swirls really are part of her design xD I used to try and add little teeny swirlies into the fur, and that was my style, but I decided I liked a big one on the shoulderblades better. C:

You're most certainly welcome. Thank you for answering my question! You've always used swirls as a part of your style, so I was just wondering if that was a marking or not.
