You know what, this game is addicting and I want to what my current overworld looks like.I won't bother showing the cave system, because that would probably murder your eyeballs. :/
Used the mod/app Cartographer to render this.

what are those gold speckles in the middle?
Also, is that really the size of the entire thing? On youtube, minecraft worlds look a lot bigger.

Those itty-bitty little specks of gold are all the torches I placed on the map. This is just an isometric map of all that I've explored on the surface to this point. Since the update to the beta of Minecraft, I'll be unable to post anymore of these maps until Cartograph updates to work along side it again.
I managed to build my bridge to the other continent now though.

I reeeeeeeally want to get the game for myself. I love building up games where you collect resources and make stuff, and since that's ALL minecraft is about, it sounds AWESOME

Now imagine re-spawning at night with nothing to aid you and staying the rest of the night on the ice, praying for the sun to come up. Longest eight minutes of my life!

I know what you mean! I had a few instances just last night. One of which was a long series of events really. I had made a little island of dirt on top of a hill, lined it with torches, then made a 36 unit dirt tower which I was standing upon. I hit the inventory key then tabbed out. Somehow over the five minutes or so I was looking at other things(deviantart) five spiders had crawled up the 36 unit tower, and knocked me off and killed me. I then spent the rest of the night running from creepers, zombies, and skeletons. I had to run around for the whole 8 minutes or so. Had ten or so mobs chasing me by time the sun rose. xD. Desert too so no trees to jump into.

I died once on a friend's server while I had gold and lapis lazuli, fell down a giant crater that went to the bottom of the map and lost a good portion of my supplies. Including aforementioned minerals. I cursed their rampant explosions in their map.

Lol. It just kept going and going and going and going. He had a bedrock wall of protection and it cut through it in the first 20 seconds or so. xD

Nope. It just takes a lot of tnt to blow it up. Turns out there's a lot of 10,000 tnt vids. I'll have to find the one I had seen and send it your way.
