{E}Removed warning because it's not really necessary.Okay... I have this concept, and most religions would probably call it blasphemous or something, but I think it's kinda cool. Basically what happens is that when you die, your soul is divided into two part - good and evil - and each part goes towards its respective afterlife. I may turn this into a storyline somehow....
I originally came up with this concept sometime around May 2 earlier this year, and this was just practise in PSE 7 to get back to where I was before I moved to college res without a tablet. I'm just glad that my Razer mouse is sensitive enough to edge the eraser tool along fine lines. I'd still prefer a tablet though.
Feel free to make your own soul designs or use this as a wallpaper.
[I put the warning up because I don't know exactly how people will respond to this concept]

Eh, the warning's unnecessary. Religious people have way more blasphemous things to complain about. (And if anyone complains about this, I'll take it upon myself to make something even more blasphemous as a scapegoat.)
A really need concept. Definitely a fairer method than most religions' ways to access their respective afterlives. You can find a lot of analogies to other religions here - the excising of the evil part of a soul is kinda like being forgiven for your sins, though quite a bit more literal. And of course, the classic philosophical question 'which traits go in which half of the soul?' - stuff like excessive ambition is often portrayed as evil, but some people have really strong ambitions to do really good things.
I digress. Neat concept.

Okay, I'll remove the warning now. I'd love to see what you'd come up with.
Thank you.

That's a pretty cool theory. If I believed in afterlife/God/whatever I'd probably believe your version.

lol, of course they both look alien. No traditional angels and demons for you Nice texturing, and the idea is a very interesting one. Human individuals do seem to be divided with a good side and a darker side.
The blue creature is really cool. You should make it an actual fantasy critter of yours if you haven't already^^ The darker creature is cool too but the arms kinda bother me and I'm having trouble deciding if they're claws, toes, hooves or something else entirely...

That's thing about souls though, they can be anything~*
But yeah, I understand about the hellish's feet things. I was going for toes, but didn't really care in the end.

Thanks.
I'm having a hard time deciding on which soul portion I like the most. The "heavenly" one stands out the most and I love its floaty design, but then there's the subtlety of the "hellish" one that sneaks your attention away.

You're welcome
I think I like the heavenly one the most, with its bird-manta ray style look
