Description
New Darkness In The East takes place in Japan following an event known as ‘the skyfall’ in which a mysterious object has fallen from the sky in the middle of the night, fluctuating and disturbing energy sources throughout all of Japan. In the following days paranormal incidents appear to be on a drastic new rise. An ominous new atmosphere as fallen over Japan. Restless spirits have taken terrifying new insect-like forms and behaviors, they have become stronger, their presence more widespread, their curse amplified and more dangerous than ever before. The backstories will focus on the life, their death, the original ghost legend, and lastly the new amplified curse of each new individual ghost presented. This take on Japanese horror combines the two great fears of ghosts and that of insects. Combining both of these unpleasantries into the creation of several new ghosts and stories of varying length inspired by the Japanese horror culture surrounding ghosts and urban legends.
Below I will include a very short section from the full story about the new curse of this entity:
New Darkness In The East – Since the day of the skyfall event, the ghost of the evening butterfly still flutters around university dorms and buildings. But sighting of the evening butterfly have gone from a creepy but somewhat beautiful and serene encounter to a now dangerous and terrifying ordeal. Now students who are aware of this ghost do not sleep with the shades open any longer. Unknowing students and those who study from abroad fall victim fall to this entity and bare witness to this surreal yet horrifying encounter in the night. To be found dead in the morning or many days after until someone checks in on them. While the ghost used to only glide about outside, it now enters into dorms usually when one is asleep. To creep up onto their bed to feed on and drain out it's victims life force with a shadowy proboscis that slithers out of its slit throat.
Full story to be told likely in a future book...

Amazing as always, but I can't exactly tell what kind of butterfly was fused with the spirit by looking at the wings. The wings make me think Papilio memnon, or Great Mormon, but those eyespots threw me off.

Thank you, I didn't bookmark the exact species unfortunately but it was some sort of Papilio I was referencing I think.

This is so creepy but I can't help but be mesmerized by it. It very well could be a good urban legend if it isn't already.
