Description
"cover her face; mine eyes dazzle; she died young"lol; no. But cover her face, though..
aah, she looked much better (and less static) in my sketchbook.
The writing is far too delicate/whimsical for Fair Coin, but whatever..
AND NOW, I HAVE BUSINESS TO WHICH I MUST ATTEND!
/rushes in a panic to do stuff

I love the way you colour, itΒ΄s always so nice
do you use any custom brushes? or how do you get that nice texture on her clothing?

PyroPanda In reply to centuryslayer [2008-08-09 04:40:48 +0000 UTC]
at the moment, custom brushes are outside my realm of understanding for the most part ;o;
I just use the watercolour tool (openCanvas). I've never really bothered with photoshop much for painting and stuff, just picture editing.
The texture is from [link] . I put it over the pic on an Overlay layer and changed the opacity. Then I erased some of the texture in some areas (like her face!).

oh ok. my OC has stopped functioning
nice. I mostly fail att putting texture images. for some reason they mess up the colour (yes, even on overlay)

yep; I find that overlay usually distorts the colours a bit, but when you lower the opacity, it's fine (or you could change the saturation of the texture layer to fix that, I think). If that doesn't work, I guess you could try making it a multiply layer on top of the image..? (and I dunno how it would work if you made the image a multiply layer and put it over the texture, but that might work too).
What I used to do was put the texture layer over the image and just lower the opacity of the texture.

yeah, I usually have to lower the opacity to very low numbers for it to look ok. then agian. I guess it's possible to just adjust the colours back to the original with some saturation/brightness tool in PS ^^
gonna have to experiment a little

here, the opacity is...well, I don't really remember, but somewhere between 30% and 50% (probably closer to 50% because it's much more prominent than I usually make it). But that's in oC. In PS, I'd probably use overlay at somewhere between 25% and 35% opacity..

I tend to stick under 25% in PS.
IΒ΄m having a hard time figuring out what type of texture/how it should look to use when and where as well

aw, thanks, chicalalady! ;o;
I always thought you were rather perceptive. I changed a lot about the way I do faces when doing this. And I'm really glad you actually like the result.
