Description
What’s this? A tutorial? Some people have been asking me how I make my morphs, so I thought I’d make a tutorial alongside my “fursona” morph. It wasn’t too complicated of a job, so I thought it wouldn’t be too hard to explain. I’ve never made a tutorial before, so hopefully people can understand what’s going on.

Definitely feel free to note me. I'm still intending to make a video tutorial to supplement this one, but it probably won't get done for a while.

I have to ask this and sorry i keep asking retarded questions but im new at this so ya :/. Anyway for magic wanding do i have to screw with the tolerance and junk after i have done the erasing of the outer layer? and again sorry i have so many questions 0.o

Magic Wand works best with hard edges, which us why I go around the inside edge of my border erasing with a hard brush. I usually have to use the wand three or four times to select most of the interior, and then I use the eraser again to get the little bits that it missed

I use a layer mask to just show the parts of the tail that would be seen, and then use the Levels sliders to adjust the lighting if it needs to be shadowed (hint - if you lasso just part of the layer, you can adjust the lighting on just a part of it)

Hate to ask another question but how do you get your erasing so flawless? Mine always has a bunch of pixels left behind.

I usually set the eraser to a soft (0% hardness) round brush, and go around the edges first. I then set the hardness all the way to full, and go around again on the inside edge of what I just did. This lets me then use the magic wand to quickly select and delete most of the interior. I then take the eraser and manually erase the spots that were missed

I have used like 16 diffrent layres for the fur, and well it becomes problematic to continue , and I'm not even done with the fur yet ! O.O

Wouldn't it be just as simple, if your program allows it, to mas out the top layer rather then delete it?

They both produce the same effect, though you can't use the magic wand on a mask, which is what I tend to do to remove the middle once I go around the edges. You end up merging it back down anyway, so I guess it's just up to your preference.
