The widget appears with a grey block in the background (no transparency).. I tried to get rid of it but no luck..

could you upload screenshot or tell me more details about the block? There is no grey block on my PC.
what windows version do you use? I observed that some problems only occurs on Windows XP.

The grey block appears like this all the time. I searched in the designer but all work good there..
XWidget 1.9.7.808 - Win8.1 x64
(I have sent my secondary laptop with win7 ultimate x32 to service so I can't test it there...)

It's a bug. Once you changed the background color of a component, even if you don't enable the background color, it will display in some condition, I guess this bug is related to the windows version.
I have removed the unwanted background color of layercenter/layerdot/layertline/chart1/chart2，the grey bolock should have been removed.

please rename the "light weather.zip" as "light weather.xwp" or "light weather.XWidgetPkg"
