Description
My first serious attempt at an OC and creating something of my own without using a reference or tracing. A uvarovite, in case you're wondering, is a type of garnet; the only kind that's consistently green. I figured "emerald" anything was just too played.

Most folks have four great-grandfathers, too. Uvy has just three, though, because Spike is his great-grandfather twice over.

Um..Hate to be a downer, (THis is a great Oc and stuff,) but isn't this kind of godmodding a little bit?

Well, yes, you could frame it that way, certainly. I'd prefer to say something more along the lines of "here's an OC with some intriguing ties to established canon characters and some original abilities who might provide fodder for some interesting stories". He can fly, breathe a little fire, but his life's work isn't ruling the universe, it's making ice cream. He's more or less a one-pony Ben & Jerry but he doesn't need a jet plane to go looking for flavour #153. I don't know if someone who's slightly more magical than Rarity but way less magical that Twilight counts for "godmodding" in my books, but everyone has a different standard. But I mean, ultimately, as opposed to what, exactly, anyway? "Here's my Earth pony character. He mows lawns." "This is my unicorn. Her name is Fun-KEY Mellow D. and she hangs with Vinyl Scratch." Yeah, and?

He's really not godmodded, in my opinion. His backstory is a bit...unsettling if you think about it too much, but the wing spell is really no different from the butterfly wings Twilight gave Rarity, just based in his natural magic and tied into his heritage.
