Description
My first dive into fursuit making, starting with trying to make the head. I am really pleased with how it looks so far since it's my first time ever doing anything like this beforeI started by assembling this head base pattern , which is not bad, but I wanted to try adding onto it to better fit the look that I was going for. First I made the muzzle larger and more square-ish since I'm going to be making a Princess pony (Cadance, if the eyes don't give it away), and then I found myself adding more and more foam to it that ended up changing the look quite dramatically. The whole thing is now larger and more round with fuller cheeks and forehead. Also since Cadance has her own unique eye shape which the original pattern was not built around, I had to do a lot of carving into the eye sockets and then adding more foam around where the eyes would go, since I used a hard plastic-like material that has no bend to it and it would not flex around the head shape. I then designed my own ears and snip snipped away at the inner part. I think the ears came out great, but I have a suspicion that once the fur is on all that detail is going to be lost
The eyes came out pretty good as well. Again, not perfect, as each eye has their own little blemishes from mistakes I made, and the 'follow me' effect doesn't really work because of the eye style that I designed. To me this isn't a big deal since solving issues like this simply comes with experience -- I really didn't have any way of knowing what eye styles would work better for follow me eyes prior to making them. I also managed to pull off the glossy look that I desired so much. Though you can't really see it in the pictures, they're pretty reflective and you get a lot of light bouncing off of them.
More WIPs of my fursuit venture will come as I make more progress on it.

It's hard for me to compare since I've never worn any kind of fursuit before and don't know just how limited their vision is. But this one gives a huge blindspot right in front me!

So how curvy/padded are the hips, legs, torso, etc gonna be?

Curvy is the goal, but I'll have to see if I can pull it off without screwing everything up, haha...

Aww yeah, I was waiting for this
It already looks pretty damn amazing! Definitely love the eyes.
I kinda feel like a dumbass for asking this, but are the eyes see-trough from the inside? Or will they need some adjustments?

Thanks. The pupil is the part where you see through, it's like a mesh, but since it's black and the inside of the head is dark, you can't really tell unless you get really close up to it.

Haha, I knew somebody would ask. I just use them as weights when tracing out pieces onto fabric.
