Okay, I'm sick of bronies going all EWW WHAT IS THIS FIM IS 20% COOLER!1!1 on Youtube videos of past gen ponies.I don't like bronies that say that every gen before G4 is terrible just because they saw ten seconds of Newborn Cuties.
Oh and G2 doesn't have a cartoon, so what are you basing that on? MLP Tales? It's actually late G1.
If Lauren Faust didn't like G1, then Friendship is Magic wouldn't exist. I had someone with a Twilight Sparkle roleplay account on Facebook said to me that the G1 cartoon is 'bad and outdated.'
And the first G1 special (pilot?) isn't actually that bad, it's not girly and it's similar to the FiM pilots. (Tirac/Nightmare Moon wants the night to last forever, rainbows defeat Tirac/Nightmare Moon.)
And My Little Pony is about the toys anyway.
Now if bronies can yell at people that don't like FiM, why can't I?

I use those terms so I don't get mixed up on which is which.
If I had to choose which generation is my favorite, it would be G1.

Agreed, I'm a pegasister and I grew up with G1 and Pony Tales (never cared for the G3 stuff, though). Β Plus, Bronies need to remember that G1 was Lauren Faust's main inspiration for Friendship is Magic. Β So without G1, FiM probably wouldn't even exist!

G1's my favorite generation. I honestly don't like anything between G1 and G4. It's all kinda creepy.

I agree; I'm getting interested in MLP and think G1's just as good, with some parts probably even better than, as G4. Don't listen to that person on Facebook. It's not "bad" or "outdated" from what I've glimpsed at. It's actually surprisingly dark at times. The G1 ponies also look cute. I've got a G1 Starshine plush I bought recently, and my avatar as you can see is even in G1 style.

I'm a brony that actually started watching MLP Tales BEFORE FiM, but recently, since my local F.Y.E. was having a Closing sale, I got the Complete Series of the Original G1 Cartoon for around $17 when it was originally $30, I only watched a few episodes (The End of Flutter Valley, The Ghost of Paradise Estate and The Great Rainbow Caper) and it's alright, plus I like the Fluffy Mane styles

I've never seen the 1986 show because I was born in 1997. I wasn't even around the time the old MLP show was shown on ABC and the Disney Channel. Well it's alright for my tastes but if Faust likes it, I'll respect her opinion.

I love G1 to death and I miss the wonderfully simple style <3 I could actually DRAW IT and it would look normal and not a deformed pecan pie with a scribble on its side!
Although FiM has it's pros, it has its mishaps- Namely, everyone's demeanor. Rarity was the showgirl, Rainbow Dash was the fancy girl. Applejack, thank all holy figures, was right. Twilight wasn't in G1, neither was Fluttershy, so they're saved. Sweety Belle was a BAKER, not a singer; Scootaloo was the same...

I love all the animations except G3,5.
And all the toys are fantastic too. I don't get all the hate the originals get.
Actually I used to hate fim style and the toyline of it and allways say how much better it was during the old days.

The text needs to be darker so we can see them against Fizzy. But I agree. I grew up on G1 and loved it as a child. It's not all that bad. Now g3.5 with the creepy baby ponies... that's nightmare fuel in itself. Their box art is cuter than the cartoon series.Β

Actually, I've seen alot of bronies defend G1, as well. (They seem to be becoming more open to it nowadays then they were when this stamp was first made.) But yeah, I don't like it when people bash things needlessly.
Whether it's G4 fans bashing G1, or G1 fans bashing G4. (Yes, I've seen some do that.)

I prefer the pevious gens due to the reason the ponies just looked better in my opinion, I mean I like g4 but the whole stylyzed, chibi-animu style just doesn't work for mlp. The previous gens least had some realism in them, they were round and chubby looking, like shetland ponies, those are round and chuby looking too hence I like them so much while the g2 toys were more horse like in appearance and g3 went back to the chubby look...It kinda pains me to see bronies bashing on the previous gens mean sure if they don't like it fine with me but that's no valid reason to bash it. If they don't like then don't look it up :/ is it THAT hard to do so? Apparantly yes...the worst 'arguments' came from one of my own friends he said:Β

The animation is terrible, even disney was doing a better job at animation in the 80's - that one just....really? Did he expect every animation studio was as great as disney back then? :/Β
The ponies all look the same - and show me proof that fim isn't guilty of doing this? I've seen plenty of background ponies who looked the same, they just had a different color, or a different mane. now not saying that this is a terrible thing to do, I know it's done for the sake of costs and convience, many cartoons do it, but I don't think it should count as a valid argument to dislike something.Β
I also remeber seeing a comment on youtube froma Β brony saying "We know that without G1 fim wouldn't exist! you can stop shoving that into our face we know!" then how about bronies stop bashing previous gens? If they'd stop doing that then others can stop yelling that to them, it's very easy logicΒ

The G1 ponies actually do have personalities, some of them were even inspired for G4 ponies. Some examples are Wind Whistler, who is intelligent and like Mr. Spock, and Fizzy, who is scatterbrained and clumsy.

Don't listen to what you're friend says or tell them to rewatch it again. What's funny is bronies/fans claim that characters like Octavia/Vinyl have personalities, when those are MADE up by the fandom (if you don't count Slice of Life).

lol had to look back at what I wrote but thank you ^6 my opinion still hasn't really changed, mean I still don't think the whole stylized chibi look works, they should've done something like the episode where pinky temprary looks like a g3 pony, that could've worked greatlyΒ
