Okay, I'm sick of bronies going all EWW WHAT IS THIS FIM IS 20% COOLER!1!1 on Youtube videos of past gen ponies.I don't like bronies that say that every gen before G4 is terrible just because they saw ten seconds of Newborn Cuties.
Oh and G2 doesn't have a cartoon, so what are you basing that on? MLP Tales? It's actually late G1.
If Lauren Faust didn't like G1, then Friendship is Magic wouldn't exist. I had someone with a Twilight Sparkle roleplay account on Facebook said to me that the G1 cartoon is 'bad and outdated.'
And the first G1 special (pilot?) isn't actually that bad, it's not girly and it's similar to the FiM pilots. (Tirac/Nightmare Moon wants the night to last forever, rainbows defeat Tirac/Nightmare Moon.)
And My Little Pony is about the toys anyway.
Now if bronies can yell at people that don't like FiM, why can't I?

Me neither! I especially loved G1 (I'm actually in the first stages of drawing my character in that style, so woo)- The foals were long legged and gangly, and the adults were more proportionate and adult-looking.

I sort of draw ponies in g1 style already, and a mix of g2, and a bit semi-realism...it's weird to describe xD I tried drawing g4 style but it just eh made me cringe XDΒ

I always loved the past gens hell I had a G1 AJ and Twilight and Applejack protected me...I was sexually abused by my younger cousin who is 2 years younger than me between the ages of 9-16 when I was 12 he saw I was going to Applejack for comfort and ripped her tail out in anger. I watched the episode, and it was pretty good. I don`t understand why people think that G1 ponies are ugly. And confusing G1 with G3 is one of the stupidest things brony can do.

Hating on G1 is very disrespectful towards the women (and men) in their 20-40ies who grew up with it! That includes Lauren Faust, creator of FiM! What's wrong with people? G1 isn't sexy enough for you? Well in that case, let me keep my lame 80's ponies to myself, thankyouverymuch.
I am, sadly, growing weary of G4. I still enjoy the show immensely, but as is true in every fandom, fandom abuse kills interest. These days I find myself looking at my G1 toys and missing the good ol' days. FiM has brought so much fun and acceptance around the pony phenomenon, but all attention is very in your face. Wonder how short-lived this fandom will be? No matter what, I'll always love the first generation.

I think something that people have to remember is that a) tastes change and b)technology and style evolves. I don't have a problem with previous generations...
It's like watching scooby-doo and hating the sixties cartoons because they're not the same as the newest ones...

Are you kidding? This animation is done in ink and paint on celluloid sheets. This is art! The art is amazing. Granted the animation style that comes later isn't as good but it's still hand drawn and painted. FIM, however, has to be the most un artistic piece of garbage I have ever seen in the franchise, just about as bad as Newborn Cuties...Β

It's sad to see that the movie based on G1 was underappreciated. It deserved a lot more audience than it had when it was in cinemas.

Yeah, the comics have had alot of cameos. I chuckled at the "Blues Brothers" ponies.
I've seen some fans demonize the comics for "doing to many cameos/pop culture references." (Calling it "pandering") Yet, are perfectly fine with the show having the "Big Labowski" ponies, and such in it.

I think all the generations are pretty awesome, speaking as someone who played with g2 and g3 all my life. Except for g3.5, which is kind of odd looking.
Admittedly, g1 is a bit old, but that doesn't mean previous gens are worthless.

It's sad how some people take "G1 isn't that bad" to an extreme. They'll draw pictures of G1 ponies murdering other generations. It wasn't good but it wasn't bad either.

My favourite gen is definately G2. I think they had the best toys, with the most beautiful hair. G4 toys' hair just looks like a bunch of yarn glued to a plastic pony. And don't get me started on these blindbags recolours of the Mane 6.
Also, am I the only one who actually thought G3 (and G3.5!) was good?

My niece has the G3.5 Rainbow Dash and some of the G4 toys. The hair on the G3 looked awesome when we bought it, but promptly turned into a clotted mess, while the hairs on the G4 toys retained their straightness.
I watched G3.5 and thought it was the cutest thing ever!

I figured you would be the type of person who could figure out what kind of G1 pony I bought. I got it for a dollar at a flea market in Homer City, PA. Let me describe this pony.
1. She has a white body.
2. Her mane and tail are green (there's a little bit of red in her mane).
3. Her cutie mark is five maple leaves.
If you know this pony's name and her personality (if applicable), please tell me, I'd like to know. If you don't know, could you point me to someone who does know?
