Description
This may look like a 1960 Falcon to most, but it's really a very very rare 1960 Frontenac, based on the Falcon it was produced only for the Canadian market, very few survive now.Related content

very cool! Too bad they didn't sell it in the US, or at least just replace the falcon name with the frontenac name.

Well it was just a rebadged Falcon in Canada too, but still pretty neat!

You like it?
Most Americans don't seem to like the Canadian models for some reason...

I do, the grill is much more "artsy", there's no lack of imagination here.

I have been a fan of this car for many years, and this is the best picture I've seen of the legendary Frontenac.
From what I've read, the Frontenac accounted for five percent of all Ford of Canada sales, so it is memorable. Very memorable.
Very good work, and thanks for posting, friend!

They should have kept the American grille and used the money on improving the cheap instrument panel and the paint which oxidized after a year.

I agree the panel looked cheap, but the paint issues was regional I think because they didn't fade here till they were at least 25 years old.

Ford advertised their paint, "Diamond Lustre", as never needing to be waxed. No, it took a vigorous application of rubbing compound to look presentable, and you could wax it if you wished, but it didn't last for long.

Nice car. I remember reading about other Frontenac cars, like the one in the 30s made off of old Durant dies previously used by Devaux, and the race cars from the 20s built by Louis and Gaston Chevrolet.

You bet, I have heard a lot of conflicting information about how many of the Frontenacs survive, there is one 2 miles from my house that I have had my eye on for years...

That car would be cool to have in the US, just to confuse people. It would probably be best for it to remain in Canada, though.

I dunno, I have a 1961 Monarch that I will roadtrip in the US when it's ready... I wonder if anyone will say anything to me about it?

Not sure... Americans seem to like the late-40s/early-50s Monarchs, not sure about newer ones.

Well the newer ones are a lot rarer... and not as good looking towards the end of the run... LOL

I'm picking up a new master cylinder for it tomorrow and I hope to be driving it in the spring!
It's cool, it has power windows, locks, seat and lots of power!

Those crowns are so gawdy, but I love em!
They look like something that should be punches aluminum, but they are actually cast and nearly half an inch thick!

They are gaudy, and I'm surprised at how they're made too.

Very rare bird. But not a "bird".
