Well, this was done for fun and it's completely 's fault xDShe made an awesome Avatar/Ancient Rome crossover, Blood and Sand [link] , and I thought, what the hell I will try to do one as well. Obviously, this is because I've been watching too much Tudors recently, and also because today, 19th of May, 474 years ago, Anne Boleyn was beheaded, after an unfair trial. Anne's excecution was a foregone conclusion.
No awesometastic ficlet to go with it xD I am not *Capt-BA xDDDDDD
Anyway, when I watched the show, I thought Anne and Azula had some traits in common: Both were the HBIC of their respective shows, both were beautiful women who were more intelligent and clever than the men who surrounded them and both were ill-fated.
And then I was like; well, let's put Azula into one of those amazing costumes, and here are the results
I LOVE drawing Azula with dresses. She is very femenine, and she only had a single chance to dress without her military regalia in the show. Being the kind of a poser she is, I belive she deserves that 
and I think it suits her character for many reasons 
The title comes from a well-known movie, Anne of the Thousand Days, which tells the story of the ill-fated Queen, and King Henry VIII. There's a speech by Anne in that movie, and even if it is certain she didn't say that, I'd wish it was true and she would have showed it up Henry's monarchist ass:
But Elizabeth is yours. Watch her as she grows; she’s yours. She’s a Tudor! Get yourself a son off of that sweet, pale girl if you can – and hope that he will live! But Elizabeth shall reign after you! Yes, Elizabeth – child of Anne the Whore and Henry the Blood-Stained Lecher – shall be Queen! And remember this: Elizabeth shall be a greater queen than any king of yours! She shall rule a greater England than you could ever have built! Yes – MY Elizabeth SHALL BE QUEEN! And my blood will have been well spent!”
Azula's necklace is based on Anne's own "B" one, just that I put an "A"
Of course I know that a chinese princess has nothing to do with a european queen, but this was only made for fun and practice. Hope you like it.

Azula-in-an-awesome-dress is enough reason for a picture, but the story with Anne Boleyn makes it sad even when it's a pretty picture of a woman looking at the artist. The comparison fits really well, and it makes my inner history geek squee even when the subject matter is bleak. I think my favorite detail is the way you finished out her right leg, even with the expression and the amazing dress and the great details. Something about a barefoot princess just makes her look even younger.

My inner History geek was also squeeing when I thought about it and when I drew it xD (before changing to my actual studies, I was majoring in History, and still love it very much).

Feet are very obnoxious to draw (as are hands. And noses, for me, but they're my biggest weakness in terms of creating a realistic face), but that detail really helped make this picture. There's something startling about seeing a queen or a princess barefoot, and they're instantly younger. Given the fates of either of them, that perception has a huge emotional impact.
It doesn't hurt that I'm a geek, too. I'm on the quiz bowl team, and it only took two people to confirm that we had the names/fates of King Henry VIII's six wives in order. That led into longer discussions about particulars and children and charges, but that's because geeks are awesome people to hang out with. (Would LOVE a history major--I finished a humanities of science bachelor's this month, and the history classes were my favorite)

An excellent crossover that definitely goes well with Cap's Blood and Sand picture.
The jewelry she's wearing is really neat, especially the ring and her crown. This pic would be another awesome one to see colored one day. I only wish I knew how to do it myself.
I'm totally with Cap on her pose. It does = absolute sexy. And her dress, too; a fiery combination of hotness.
Now let's just hope your crossover Azula fairs better than the real Anne.

Well, Cap's one is waaaaaaaaay more awesome than this could ever wish to be. The crown was a pain in the ass to do, since I am not very skilled when it comes to jewelry. I wanted to add some FN!thing to her, so I chose to make the ring the same shape their hairpins are. I am so happy you like her pose, Anne is portrayed as a very sexy woman in that show, and Azula deserves no less.

Cap's was awesome, too, definitely. But given the choice between staring at sexy!Azula and half-naked!Zuko/Sokka, I'm gonna choose Azula.

Oh wow. Awesome concept, and even without a ficlet, you still tell the story very well! Azula fits the time so very well (anywhere and anytime nobility dominates the land, she'd be right at home)! Love her outfit and the scandalous way she's sitting!

This is all your fault
You should watch The Tudors if you haven't, it's a good show (specially seasons 1&2, where Anne appears). I think Azula would be at home there, with all the political schemes and the court plots
I wish I could write a ficlet about that! haha
