Description

Built in 2309, the Rutherford Class would push the scientific boundries of research further. The Class had a different way of parts assembly as the neck is shorter, shorter hull used and nacelle were underslung instead of being high above. The Rutherford Class had 15 ships built of the class. The Class mainly (as the classification says) does scientific missions, though, some have done sensor sweeping missions, this would later be used in 2344 after the Enterprise-C disappeared from a battle, both the USS Orca and USS Academy did sweeps but concluded with nothing, even after the Enterprise-C was destroyed. The Class's design would inspire the Nebula Class introduced during the Mid to Late 24th Century.
