This is a design that was inspired by CAP 26. I wanted to make a moondust-themed Pokemon since CAP 26 was a Steel/Ground Pokemon with Levitate, but I didn't have enough inspiration until CAP Discord helped inspire the triple-pun of moondust, dust bunnies, and moon rabbits. After that clicked, I just had to draw this! This is not the design I submitted, however. I did this just for fun.


Concept map:

  • moon + dust + bunny (moondust, dust bunny, moon rabbit)
  • USAgi
  • Stars and stripes
  • With some inspiration from Reisen Udongein Inaba (moon rabbit + finger-gun) + Utsuho Reiuji (celestial body + finger-gun)

Design map:

  • Ears: rockets
  • Head: moon
  • Face: craters resembling nerdy glasses and freckles
  • Neck: star-shaped scarf
  • Body: astronaut suit
  • Pose: pointing up for liftoff!
  • Name: astronaut/astra + rabbit


I also really like "Orbbit" as a name for this fella, but I thought Astrabbit was a better fit.

Thank you! I try to put inspiration into my designs, but I think I only draw inspiration from concept, not principles of design.
