The devil is in the details, but that's what makes it fun, you know?

Maybe that's why I enjoy drawing hands so much, I am so familiar with mine.

My hands stick places where they shouldn't.

Yes. Good. You ought to use more layers and different layer settings more often.
Like I told you ages ago.
Y'know.
Same thing with custom brushes.

Oh goodness that's a familiar pain. I've gotten to the point where I generally start with a background... and then curse myself when, nearly finished with the art, I decide that I don't like it and I want it to be different.

I sometimes start with a background, but then suddenly the colors seem really BRIGHT AND EYE-SEARING AAAAAAGHHH. I'm horrible at mentally gauging how light/shadow would change the appearance of a person's skin colour, so I fear I may have to start adding that extra fourth and fifth step more often.

One does not simply not add in more work for yourself. T'is a silly idea.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who sits and draws far more than I planned too, I'll color and crosshatch and go back in shock realizing I just spent 6+ hours on one part of the picture.

I find that happens the most on quick, silly sketches I spent maybe 10 minutes on in the first place.
