I get quite a few lag spikes that zip me back to where I was a half second before, but usually this is in the Abyss when there's a high population there, and the MOBs don't load for me properly on those occasions. I always assume it's because my laptop is a piece of shit and I'm usually running two more applications in the background.

Yeah, alright, I'm really noticing the lag now. I was playing my assassin alt and when I used my dash skill I'd zoom forward, stab 'em, then my PC would ZIP me backwards to where I was when I used the hotkey. *sigh* Oh NCSoft ...

worst thing i get is when i'm in the middle of a fight, the camera angle suddenly goes nuts and pans about halfway across the map section and back again, without my char ever moving :/

It really fucks with your flight, especially if it knocks your wings off halfway down, then zips you back up to the top of the cliff and throws you off WITHOUT YOUR FLIGHT TIMER COOLED DOWN. =__=
I have about a quarter of my level between 31-32 to pay back in Soul Healing after dying so much, though not always from the lag. That's 106,000+++ Kinah ... enough to level up my alchemy, dammit!

i died 3 times yesterday cos the tank for a group i went to taran's cavern with was shit. doesn't seem to matter how often i say it, people just don't get the message that i cant heal them if they let me get hit til i'm dead.

Make sure you aren't standing right next to them when you're healing, though. Healing generates INSANE aggro. We had a healer who didn't quite get that in the Three Keys Temple she was standing to close and she died more than our tank. One wipe, but other than that something like ... three deaths for her? Oh well, her tits were too big anyway.
We did Taran's Cavern using a glad as a tank and we did fine. 'Cept I think our group also consisted of two clerics and a chanter on one run, and one cleric and chanter at higher levels on another ...

ventrillo is a program ppl use for communicating via mic/headset guild/group instances in MMO's. although sicne aion's release i've heard of ppl using skype aswel.

Very much indeed, in the end it is always the healer's fault. That's why I prefer to stay as Damage-Per-Sec on these games, nobody blames you of things! (unless.. you pull all the enemies like a tank-wannabe retard)
Ooh Aion... I spent two days downloading it only to discover I needed a serial to even TRY it's beta, it appears they don't really have open betas at all.

Hehehe ... in AoC my Tempest of Set (priest class) ran around dragging aggro with her area of effect, which was all good so long as we WEREN'T in an epic area, and I had my (INSANE) damage dealing Herald of Xolti with me. But like I told SaM, I've never actually been blamed for letting the tank die. We just rez whoever fell at the end of a battle, and it's all good. In Aion so long as either I or the cleric got away from a wipe we could bring back the whole team once the patrols were gone.
In order to download it you need to buy it from NCSoft's website/Steam, by purchasing either a US or European account (depending on your IP address, sadly). You shouldn't even be able to download it at all besides that way, because it's not yet released and the last Beta event (newly-announced) isn't for another few weeks.

Weird, I somehow got to download it using the ncsoft launcher (I can't remember how I got it but it is there...). Obviously of course, it was all for nothing because I still need a game key linked to the account I made over their EU site.
As for priests.. depends on the game, but damn they sure ARE useful with their rez abilities, indeed!

Yeap, they are. Jaris is a chanter so my heals are really great for me, but after level 20 I need to hit Bix four times with my heal spell to keep her on her feet.

If you can you should definitely play Aion. A lot of people I know are quitting their old games to play it, and I myself thought I'd hate it because I generally don't like Asian stuff. I eat my words; I love it.

The best tank we ran into in AoC kept the aggro AND dragged it around so that its back was exposed to us, which meant we could do more damage because they have less protection there according to game mechanics.
The worst wouldn't even wait for our mana to regenerate, so there went all the damage dealers. =__=

If there are the same servers Esra and I should be on Beritra unless another (un)official roleplay server is announced ... although that's doubtful. And we've seen that already, Esra's practically stalking any Aion sites around this time.

Ugh, when I hear such talk I get all like barfing.
Someone "YELLING" at me or other because "U B00N jus led da Tank die!" is one reason I´ll never play Aion, or any of those class based games again. And certainly I´ll never play a healer.
Jerks who think "winning is everything" and not doing it right on first try are in my opinion the lowliest lifeforms on the net.
Shifting blame around... yeah right. Great way to gain friends in a new game. Yelling at party members, even better.

Has it actually happened to you? It's never happened to me, not on EQII (well I wasn't a healer there anyway), not on Age of Conan, and not on Aion so far. In fact quite a few times during dungeon runs on AoC one or two people died, sometimes even the tank itself, but afterwards me and the other healer would pick up the fallen and we'd get a "thanks" and keep on going. In Aion we got completely wiped numerous times in the epic area, including the cleric once, but usually either I or the cleric got away and came back for the others and it was all good. I've never had people blame me for letting the tank die; I've heard stories of such things ONLY from people who've played WoW.

2.) WoW contains some of the lowest life forms possible in MMOs. From personal experience.
Not all of them, no - so no attacks from WoW players, please. And it's not to say other games don't have them either - I've had some on Aris on Ryzom I've wanted to rip into shreds with my teeth. But, WoW seems to be a breeding ground for them in quantity and low-quality... primarily because of the nature and popularity of the game,
