YEAH!! Been addicted to priest classes since playing a Tempest of Set on AoC, which are COOL healers, baddassss. And the chanter is pretty cool.

And this is the reason why I will be playing a dps class for this game. I don't want the responsibility of keeping the tank up anymore lol

Well this is why I play a chanter - as long as a cleric's there, which there'll need to be after level 20 - I can dump the blame on then.
And the difference is huge. While I can heal myself with one chant of my healing spell, I need about four counts for Bix, our tank (secondary tank; the real tank's a templar, she's a gladiator) and at the same rate she's being hit it means I'm no good in a pinch. The clerics, however, get a heal boost: one cast of her heal spell and Bix is all bandaged up. PLUS she can heal flight time and mana later on, I believe, whereas I can't. I have the responsibility of casting different buffs in rapid succession depending on who is within my 10m radius that needs it (eg: magic damage boost versus phys damage boost; I can only have three running, and you get more than three buffs).

I wouldn't be suprised if Kil goes Templar, he's always been tank and for some reason likes it O_o.

especially when paired to a Templar (obviously)
Can't say much about Spiritmasters though, but they have their private tank so I bet they're pretty mean.

Hehehe, I may make a rogue to the side. Ah, tanks ... I tried a guardian on AoC, which is THE human shield in that game, and sorely sucked at it. Didn't help that Esra played a ranger (damage dealer) and always hit the mob before I could get their aggro. =__=
Esra played our tank for our first epic experience in Aion during the last beta, even though he's a guardian, so a tank in 75% of situations. And he was damn good at it; held the aggro of THREE opponents, even when they were constantly breaking off to attack me or the cleric because we were healing (yyyep, healing drags aggro in Aion! Smart mobs they got there ...)
