This actually started off as a silly sketch of Gabriel looking guilty and freaked out (which he still kinda does...), but turned into something a bit more serious. Who knows what he did, but he's definitely on his way to time-out. D: It can't be easy carrying around your parents' high expectations when you're so young, and such a burden is definitely going to have side effects now that Gabe's getting older. :0I actually really love little man's expression here, as he looks both disappointed, annoyed, and sad. Poor Ira is just trying to be a good mom!
....and no, the trees in the BG are NOT on fire, haha. I was going for a morning sunlit-snowy effect... >A>

XD I'm sorry but this just makes me think of all the times I was in trouble as a kid. Can't tell you how many times I've had that expression. One good thing about being an adult though I guess.
But I really like this, and even the trees. Honestly I at first just thought it was that light effect that happens when there's spotty cloud cover in evenings/mornings in the winter. It took me a moment to see the "fire." Still great though, no matter how you look at it.

You know now that I am an adult, I think I've learned I'd rather be a kid again with this face all the time, haha.
And I'm glad it doesn't look like Gabriel burned down the forest to you, as I only noticed it looked that way after I'd uploaded it and then this whole scene really did make more sense! LOL I admittedly made the BG quickly and wanted to focus more on the characters, so at least I know what to watch out for next time. Thanks for the comment, Murra!

if those trees were on fire I would love to know what Gabby did LOL!
They look like thatbecause that yellow part is too "sharp"... next time try to smudge it out :3 Also remember to add that yellow to the trees and part of the snow to show it is a light :3
Otherwise both the background and the wolfies look great! Gabbys expression is amazing XD

Haha I'm glad someone else made the connection between the trees looking like they are on fire and what's happening to Gabe. XD I thought the same thing! And I definitely agree that the lighting looks too sharp -- I think that happened when I was messing with the brightness/saturation settings. It kinda blew the lighting out to be way too defined. I'll keep it in mind next time and appreciate the feedback! c:
