Description blah

inspired by Gustave Dore's illustrations for Dante's Inferno. I just wanted something to ink, and tried to make it a little more exciting with the photshop crud.

did it! This reminds me that I really like some of my older work despite the odd faces... I was a bit more snobby back then.

well, devianart can be hard to navigate. I do "hide" some pictures by taking them out of my Featured gallery, or by moving the picture into my scraps folder, but this picture should be visible in my main/featured gallery. HOW STRANGE...

Never mind, now that it has "surfaced", I hope more people will be able to appreciate it.

hey, are you cruel-perversions-undercover on tumblr? I know you said you don't use tumblr, but for some reason I suspect it's you.

I can assure you that I am not. I wouldn't even know how to check what makes you think so. Could you post a link?

The drawing is great. Looks like something from a sick hardy boys book.

The funny thing I found was that I am taking a Dante class, and once in a while we are shown illustrations from Dore's book. They are quite incredible. 0____0 So I appreciate the fact that you were inspired by his work. So am I, but quite honestly, no good will ever come of that...However, since you actually have talent, you are able to do more with this kind of inspiration. I likes it. This piece does capture some of that feel from Dore's, with...people laying around, nekkid, and....well, they're in Hell. No fun to be seen here.

This piece also reminds me of part of a film we saw about Inferno. I can't remember who made it, but you'd prolly love it, Veracita; it's VERY post-modern. Per chance you've seen it and know what I'm talking about? It does take narrations and tells/shows some of the story of Inferno, but...there's...all this weird stuff thrown about in it. And, well, it has glimpses of naked people rolling around once in a while too. Yes, it's as weird as I am describing. 0___o;

Anyhoo, great jaerb!

Um...manlove on the Sistine Chapel?? o___0;;

I dunno... looks kinda GAY to me.

Well seriously, I thought of the Sistine Chapel ceiling. Hell, both you and MIKEY have a tendency to draw nothing but muscly men, right? (because you love them oh so much!) That and the pose of the guy on the left looks like one of the figures on the ceiling.

How come no art historians ever mention that there's man-kisses in that painting??

well at least I like muscly men and not LITTLE BOYS IN HOTPANTS

..I kid. I know you are very in touch with the fluid nature of your sexuality and you are completely in control of your sexual phantasies (that's spelled that way intentionally, by the way).

How come no art historians ever mention that there's man-kisses in that painting??

Maybe because the stuffy art historians were tellin' themselves it was just one of Mikey's muscley wimmins?
But I saw a show on PBS just the other day that mentioned the manlove. Yeah!

I'm submitting something naked and of questionable age for portfolio review. We'll see how that goes.

This is wonderful. I think the emptiness of the top makes the piece work. However you might wanna go even simpler than that. Try to get rid of the texture you have on top and see how that looks I love the piece!
