Description
Traditional mixed media (colored pencil & marker) drawing of James Spader / Ultron. Can you spot the similarities? When I first heard that the enemy of the Avengers in their second movie will be a robot I was like "Umm ok... That's probably gonna be boring, but I still trust in Joss Whedon... somehow...", but then they announced that James Spader will play this villain (motion capture and voice) so suddenly I was like "OMG! Yes! Reddington will kill the Avengers and take over the world!!! Can't wait to see that!".

Hmm, I can Definitely see the resemblance Sweet Job, Quelchii ! Quick Q: Who would win an all out slaughter war against Hydra, Deadpool or Ultron ?

Thank you!
Hmm. I admit that I don't know much about comic Deadpool (I only know the bad movie version...), so I'm on Ultron's side!

Aaaah ! They've just came out with an CGI test version of the Deadpool movie on YT last year ! Hopefully it'll be better than the Origins which to me was a poorly made product version of DP

That sounds good! But I still stick with the MCU! Too bad Marvel Studios doesn't own the rights...

It was hard for me to accept him as playing Ultron! I had the opposite experience you had. When I heard that it was going to be Ultron as the next villain I was like "HOLY CRAP YES." But then when they announced he was being played by James Spader I was like ??? The reason was because I only knew him from his role in The Office as "Robert California" and I utterly hated his character on that show. But the closer the movie gets the more excited I get to see it ^^

I've never seen "The Office", but I can tell you that he's great and just badass in "The Blacklist". So Avengers: Age of Ultron is gonna be awesome! Only 3 weeks (in Germany)! I'm so excited! Yeah!

This is awesome artwork. I've never watched the Blacklist, but he was great in Stargate. I just can't stop looking at Ultron's details. I see the ways that his design resembles his comic design, like the circles that connect to the mouth (of course in the comic they were glowing completely).

Thank you very much! Yes, I also know him from the Stargate movie, but he's also great in The Blacklist.
I almost ran out of patience when I drew the details, but I'm really happy that I finished it. The circles remind me of the comic design, too! And I also like the fact that there are also a few similarities when you compare movie Ultron and Spader (shape of the eyes, chin,...).

You're welcome. Since I've only seen him from Stargate, it's a little harder to recognize him. I also noticed those similarities between the movie Ultron and Spader. I heard that Spader acted for the motion capture as well as the voice for Ultron. Maybe they should have Ultron as a reoccurring villain like Loki. It would be interesting to see him in a movie like Ant-Man.

Yes, that's true. He was much younger in this movie.
Did you see the Joss Whedon interview where he impersonates a sightless Spader (he was not allowed to wear glasses and can't wear contact lenses) while doing the motion capture on set? Quote: "... don't fall... I can't see anything!?!" I think from now on I'll see Ultron in a different way. Ultron has no "Vision"! Lol!
That would be great. I would like to see him some kind connected to Ant-Man, but I have the bad feeling that Ultron will be destroyed at the end of the movie.

lol I didn't see the interview where Joss imperonated Spader, but I did hear that he couldn't use his glasses or contact lenses. I see you're little joke there.
I don't know Ultron's origin in the MCU, but it would be cool if Hank Pym had an unmentioned role in his creation. The Ant Man trailers seem to suggest that Hank is passing the suit to the next in line, which means he was Ant Man for some period of time. Also I think Ultron has a way of controlling minds and erasing memory. But that's just me hoping, I don't know how Tony will create Ultron. I do want Ultron to survive because the villains for the first and third Avengers will both reoccur (at least two movies each already), and Ultron is a great villain.

Hehe, I just couldn't resist!
Yes, it would be cool, if they would mention Hank Pym in Age of Ultron. I think we'll just have to wait and see... and I'll watch this movie one week ealier. But I still think it's weird that the release date in the US is the lasted (?).

I know what you mean. I'm in the US, but I may have a chance to go watch the first and second Avengers back to back.
