Created for the DSF PROJECT. Read about it here [link]Reminds me of someone taking in all the knowledge of Cthulhu and the Deep Ones and then having their mind forever lost for not being able to comprehend it. Or anything else just as terrifying.
Pen & ink illustration. Background textures were made by me by splashing india ink onto paper and splattering watercolor onto paper. Put together in photoshop for some dodge and burning and using the DIFFERENCE mode on my layer of ink splashes.
Size 5" x 8" at 400 dpi (just in case).

this is interesting as hell... i love how there is no hint as to what is shocking him. Question: WHat is this "all the knowledge of Cthulhu and the Deep Ones " ...The fish people? how does that relate to "having their mind forever lost?"

And author H.P. Lovecraft says it better than I can but when some characters in his stories are exposed to unfathomable horrors, their weak minds can't comprehend what they are seeing so they go insane. I imagine them running thru the streets yelling "Cthulhu! Cthulhu!", or something similar. Good times!
