Thanks. I'm still trying to get the layout right. Hopefully they are useful, but it's so hard to find a specific industry standard for comic book layout pages.

Very well designed! If you make one with Marvel standards (11"x17"), let me know to share it with my network of comic artists/writers. THX

This on is designed for an 11x17 sheet. I have found it difficult to get a standard guide to build an "official" type of template.

I am a professional, have been for the past 2 and half years working as a background artist for a Marvel artist and currently negotiating terms for my own project with another company. I see these pages every single day, I'm not trying to be rude, I just don't want someone to be under the impression they are drawing in the correct proportions when they aren't. The size doesn't have to be 10x15, but proportionate (or close) to a 2to3 ratio. Obviously how one decides to place panels and how much negative space is used between panels varies from project to project, page to page, artist to artist. But as close to 2to3 as you can get is the industry standard. 9x13.5 is often considered to be the standard live area on all professionally printed boards by Marvel, DC, Image is actually like 9x13.625 or something. 14 is close but it would make the pages look a little long. You can add 1/8 of an inch to each side if you like for bleed purposes but it doesn't matter as long as you're constrained to the correct ratio in the live area.

Thanks for the info, I obviously got a badly designed pad to base the measurements. I've been revising this one as I go, so the info is greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to point it out. I'll get some revisions up soon.

The Dimensions can honestly be anything you want, just the proportions are usually constrained to 2to3. But your board guides look good.

The live area should be 10X15, 9x14 isn't proportional to the dimensions used in comics. It would actually be 9x13.5 if constrained to the 2to3 proportions of a comic page.

Actually, these are the correct proportions for full bleed pages. I doubled checked all measurements from professionally produced pages before I did the layouts. Thanks for the input.

I am working on some 8.5x11 layout pages to go along with the full size sheets. If they prove popular as well, I may make some thumbnail pages to round out the set.

Awesome, I hope it is useful. I tried to get all the standard measurements for full bleed pages on there. Let me know if there is any tweaking that needs to be done. I may end up making smaller rough pages (that print on standard letter paper) and thumbsheets for use as well.
